Staying at 69 for PVP

I am running a pally, 2mage, warlock, priest team. They are currently at level 68. I am thinking to stay at level 68-69 to run the 61-69 Battlegrounds for honor. I could really use the Season one PVP reward instead of blues for level 70 Heroics. Has anyone actually stayed at 69 for Battlegrounds, or should I just go 70? I understand that it has less honor than the 70's. But I could at least enjoy the killing due to the level advantages of my team. In the 70's BGs, I'd imagined I would get owned hard due to the class set up.

What I have found on my server is that the 60-69 bracket is dominantly controlled by horde. so provides for a lot of easy wins and fast token collection. However, yes you do get a little less honor than at 70 (its based off level not the bracket) so the honor gain will be a bit slower. So it really depends on how well your faction does in various BGs. I would not spend a ton of time there though because you cant equip any of it till 70 anyways and you are not gaining any exp doing it. I.e. when you are done you still have to lvl to 70 afterwards in order to do anything and you were not getting rested exp or anything like that.

I guess it is "grinding honor in 69=> buy all PVP rewards in one shot => lvl to 70" VS "lvl to 70 => grinding honor in 70 => buy one PVP reward at a time" And which one should be more efficient. On my server, hordes are doing well in the 60+ bracket. 70 BGs are dominated by alliance premades after the 2.3 patch, unless I play at early morning or late night. AVs are out of the equation due to the 2+hr queuing time. So I guess it is better to win at level 69 than lose at level 70 (which makes me wanna reroll shammies :( )

yes it is better to win pre 70 than lose @70 since your server seems to be like mine (except the horrid queue times)

Isn't honor capped at 75K? I think the honor cost for the season 1 gear is around 120K from memory...

That is my understanding too Stealthy. You can still save for quite a few bits by PvPing a 69 if that's your thing though.

also at 70 you can do the old daily BG quest for nearly 500 extra honor + 10-12 gold. I ensure I knock it out daily... then the cooking one.

It doesnt matter what the cap is because you dont have to hold the honor. As you get enough points and tokens you buy a piece of gear and put it in your bank. The most expensive pvp item are the battlemaster trinkets @30,000 honor each, the gear is all <20k mand most are <16k Myself, my brother and a friend of ours all did this on our rogues. So when we dinged 70 we had 3-5 pieces of the 5 piece set and 3+ pieces of veterans (this was when S1 arena was still new so no S1 gear to get)

There is no restriction as to what you can buy you just cant wear it until you ding 70. In my personal experience I have always found gathering tokens to be the biggest pain, especially with the changes they made to AV. So staying pre 70 even if its just to whore up tokens is worth it IMO if you are winning nearly every game. And the most of those you can hold is 100 and any extras will sit in your delivery box for a few days (dont know if they raised it to 30 like everything else)

you mean honor. getting 500 arena points a week while 5 boxing would be tough. And as I said, its more for getting the tokens than the honor pre 70 because its easy to farm AV for honor.

You could level from 69-70 mostly in BG's by doing the daily quest, would take a while, iirc it's about 12k each quest, 779700XP is needed to go from 69-70, if you purely used the daily pvp quests while honor farming it'd take you about 65 days... ;)

Dont bother, just level up and hit the 70 BG's

If you were dual boxing then maybe staying at 69 would be worthwhile. More than 2 and you are wasting your time.
