Pretty much every day I come to this site, I click the link: Show New Posts Since Your Last Visit.
Quite frequently there are 4 or 5 pages of new posts.
Some days there have been 8 pages, but that is rare.
Going through the pages one at a time, and reading and/or replying to threads takes some time.
Very often, I click on page 4 of new threads and receive an error that the page is no longer available.
I'm assuming the show new threads pages time-out after an hour or something to this effect.

It's based on the cookie, and that cookie is only valid when you've not recently viewed the site, so if you try to go back to it, well you've just been there so it's no longer a valid link. It's a huge pain. In my experience, what I do is click that link to view new posts, then just open the links in new tabs.

There's always the "Show posts from the last 24 hours" link from the main forum page. I use that if the "since last visit" link has timed out.

click that link to view new posts, then just open the links in new tabs.
Exaclty how I do it also. Just open in new tab each of the 1,2,3,4 little results link buttons, then go through each of those pages opening the interesting looking articles in new tabs also. The key is to get the whole list of new posts open in seperate tabs asap, then don't touch them util you've looked at all the new items you want to see.
Sometimes when I'm distracted (usually by work, damn them), I end up getting a new "Show New Posts Since Your Last Visit" with yet another list on one of the pages I open. That's probably about the point where to cookie expires and the search would have reset and lost things.

Quite often, I've had four pages of new posts.
And opened almost every one of them, to at least see if there's a new gem for boxing.
By the time I click next, for page 4 or 5, those pages are not available.
And they're pages I've not viewed yet.
Trying the open every thread that looks like it could be interesting with the tab method.
So far it works fine. Just a different way to do things.
All the pages are there, initially, so it works fine with the new method.
