Hey,
i found alot of information about keyclone and its macro's / setup.
But i get the feeling octopus is getting left behind,
why is it?
what are the + and - sides of the software ( keyclone + octopus ).
I'm about to start my first dual box setup and i'm still not sure which one too take.
here is something u need to know : i got acces too 2 keyboards 1 mouse 1 28 inc widescreen.

Octopus is no longer supported. Thats why its 'left behind.'

There are many reasons to favor either of these. There are also other free options besides Octopus but since you asked about it, I'll restrict it to those two.
New to multiboxing and need live support to get going? Keyclone. Don't want to shell out money when a free option exists? Octopus. Want to take advantage of custom FTL setups and dual-function PiP? Keyclone. Want PiP but don't care about specialized FTL/dual-function? Octopus. Want the popular option that more folks can help you understand and tweak? Keyclone. Do not want to use software that has to "phone home" every time you run it, and doesn't fail when the auth server is down (very rare), the intarwebs screws up or work blocks that subnet/port? Octopus. Want full software KVM-style support for multiple PCs while not running the game (a la Multiplicity/Synergy)? Octopus. Want easily configurable maximizer regions without having to do math and type in numbers? Keyclone. Want custom round robin that cannot be done with in-game macros? Keyclone.I'm sure Rob and others can fill you in on other pros/cons. Also, check out our software forum. Lots of stickies in there covering the basics of a bunch of alternatives.

No. There is no trial / demo version of KeyClone.

is that real? have you actually played it that way??
I bought Keyclone, and then reverted to Octopus for a single reason : When mousing over one of my PiP thumbnail view, Keyclone used to lag in switching focus from the big window to the small window. Maybe it has been solved by now, but at that time it really ruined the whole experience of this (other much more polished than the competition) software.

yes, the lag between windows was annoying and was resolved a while ago

Whatever, I wanted to say that I gave Keyclone a second try, and all the things I held against it seem to have vanished. I am very pleased with the experience.
That and Rob provided excellent customer support when I had to transfer my license (new computer).

I am freshly new to multiboxing - so much so that I don't understand the jargon.
Can keyclone work on two separate computers?
For reasons I can't explain here (because, honestly - i don't know why) i can't run two versions of wow at the same time on the same computer. I doubt my computer could really handle the strain anyways.
I have wow installed on another PC and would like to use that machine.

Yes, but you will need 2 full versions of Keyclone {2 copies, 2 seperate licenses}, 1 for each computer. You will then be able to tie the two together.
