So I'm going to take advantage of the Best Buy deal on the battlechest and Wrath expansion this weekend. I remember the last time I bought a bunch of WoWs, the Best Buy clerks looked at me like I was nutso.

Have any of you gotten weird looks?

Not that I mind... to hell with them :)

Only time I bought em all at once, physical copies, was at 7-11 at midnight on WOTLK release. I bought 5 and told them I was the bitch who had to get everyone's copy

I remember grabbing my 5 copies of wotlk while wearing my "For The Horde" t-shirt (sad I know) and the 17 year old pimply sales droid looking at me and saying : this is for online play, you know that right? - dumbass.

I had preordered 6 copies of WotLK at Best buy, and when I picked em up, the clerk asked if I was buying christmas gifts....

But seriously, even if they werent for me, what kind of ass would I be to hold out that long on the expansion? lol

Every time i buy 10 time cards i get funny looks from other ppl in the store.

The funny thing is the day that wotlk was out i bought 10 games. I was not 10 boxing at that time, bought 5 for my friend that i have made addicted to this game.
I did not pre-order and when i got my 10 copies they where sold out after that, only pre-orders left. Some guy offered me 150€ for 1 copy. And ppl was upset asking why the FAKK i need 10 copies.
That was almost a KODAK moment.

Lol,

I tried to buy 6 months playtime with my brothers creditcard on account management, after 3 were paid the 4th were giving errors and i have called Blizzard support line. There was a cute lady fixing the problem, but for some reason she asked me howmany accounts were on my name. So i said sixteen. And she was like: SO YOU ARE TELLING ME THAT YOU HAVE SIXTEEN ACCOUNTS?!?!, and i was like Haha, yeah.

So that was funny.

Ive been playing this game from start so:
dual boxed 2 accounts
solo boxed 2 accounts
5 boxed
5 new accouns with raf
and 2 accounts where i only actived a trial key on.

So yeah that was funny.

@ WotLK release, everyone in my city got to know i was the multiboxer, and it was a funny moment, cause not a single person bashed me. Everyone was kinda "proud" of having such a high level nerd in their town ahahha. Im the shop's best costumer, i buy TCG's, WoW's, GameCards, so they give no funny looks :P
In that day many things happened, like, a neighbour from where i work, that also plays WoW and always went AV with me, we didn't knew eachother played WoW. Now, eveytime i go for a snack while at work, we end up talking about patchs, professions, raids, and everyone listening thinks we're weirdos ahah. A lot of random friends also saw me with 5 games in a bag asking wtf i was buying so many for. It was a hard task explaining what it was all about, some couldn't believe :D

If I ever am able to afford to 5 or 10 box, I'll definitely go into a store to buy the other 3 or 7 copies. I bought my second online to avoid the possibility of the key being used already, so no weird looks. Apparently Windows 7 doesn't like WoW's credit card setup, though, I can't get it to update that kind of information on their site. I have to use my Vista partition or my XP laptop.

08' Blackfriday, Circuit City had Battlechests on sale for $15/ea. I went down and bought 20 copies, they had over 60 in stock. Couple kids asked me if I was a multiboxer and asked if I knew the Aellie guy. There were in shock/awe. I felt like a celebrity.

Best Buy Deal is great and you pay Tax on it

Amazon has the Same exact deal right now on both Battle Chest And WoTLK expansion
No Tax and Free super savings shipping...
although with Best Buy you get the "Instant Gratification" and with Amazon you must wait at
least 3 to 9 days for the games :-)

I personally like Not paying Taxes on them hehe

On the night of the WotLK release, I bought 5 copies, and 10 time cards (exchange rate was really crap then and it was cheaper to buy time cards than pay by credit card) from the local EB. At the time the sales guy asked why so many copies, and I had a chat to him about boxing - now we chat about WoW whenever I'm in the store. :)

I was funny when my wife and I bought the rest of our accounts to box with, 8 copies, total, the kid at CC had no idea what to say, but it was even more fun to have the kids walk around the store with 4 battle chests each. :) All the funny looks were worth it.

I preordered my 5 WolK copies at fry's, and went back in on release day and got 5 boxes and got a few amused looks. What was annoying was they had to ring them up one at a time because the limit was 1 each.

I didn't get questioned on buying a couple boxes at once, though I did get held up by a WoW geek employee at a Best Buy that saw me grabbing a box off the shelf. You know the type...just walks up to you and says that he plays too, and has a level 80 whatever and has gotten quite a bit of raid gear now and blah blah blah.

I just smiled and said to something to the effect of being in a rush or something so I had to get going. I do all my upgrades online, or preorder expansions and have them mailed to me, so I don't have to even worry about that anymore.

I do most of my shopping on amazon. The only time I "picked up" more than one copy was the WotLK release. The clerk did ask why I needed more than one and the other clerk behind the counter said "He probably multiboxes". So maybe for about 3 seconds.

Yes. They are quite confused, but I always thought it was because they were wondering why this 33 year old with dashing good looks was playing a video game.

I wasn't allowed to purchase more than one at a time. Asked for 5 Wrath boxes, was told I could only have one even though there was a huge stack of them, and when I gave him my debit card to pay for one he asked me for id and scrutinized the picture, my face, my signature, and the cards to make sure they weren't forged. I had purchased at least 5 other games from this same guy who had never so much as looked at the card I handed him.

It's not like you wanted 5 bags of fertilizer and some gasoline.

Yeah I would have had to ask him WTF the problem was. That would have enraged me.
