View Full Version : How do I get my chars on follow to face a mob?

Just started dual boxing today, bought keyclone.

Everything works great.

I'm using a mage and shammy, the shammy is on follow.

I am AE grinding, after I frost nova the mobs and run away to blizzard, my shammy is facing me. Is there a slash command that will get him to turn around or get him to face the mob he is casting on? I want him to chain lightning while I am blizzarding.

I did some searches for "facing" and didn't find anything.

TIA

I had just started today as well, but I found if you run past the guy on follow, then back through them it will cause them to turn that way as the follow you

I'd startet few days ago => same problem. with little practise it won't happen often.
my main char is controlled by WASD. 2nd follow the main automatically by pressing W and move backwards and sidewards synchronous with the main.
If the 2nd really looks in the false direction, i can control it seperate by the arrow keys

It doesn't happen often, no, but using arrow keys on the fly is very difficult, especially with my setup of 2 Mages. I can't stop facing the target with my main, which ends up happening trying to face the clone forward.

my setup are 2 mages (only lvl 18 atm), too and it works. not perfect, but works.
I could fancy it could work also with this sleep function of AHK. So if you press your "turn-around button" D or A will be pressed for one second or so.

I watched a lot of videos lately of multi-boxing instances, and the thing I regularly notice is that when kiting, the main character does a hook at the end when turning to fire again. This causes all the following characters to turn as well back towards the mobs.

For PvE you can map the WASD Keys to work for the other chars in combination with Shift, Alt or Strg.

For PvP just learn to make this "hook movment" *g*

Try this,

On a default key binding, W moves forward, S moves back, and A & D turn left and right respectively as we all know.

So on your main leave these bindings the same but on your alt bind Q & E to do the same function as A & D This way you can run around with your main having your alt in tow and when you need him to turn with you tap either q or e. When the mob is dead hit your follow macro again and keep going.

It's a bit hard when u are trying to AE multiple mobs, as you are trying to get as far as possible then cast blizz right away, before nova breaks. Don't really have time to hook around.

I guess I will have to try binding rotating left/right to another key for my 2nd char, and manually do it while blizzard is channeling.

I thought there would be a more elegant way...

I try to leave my followers a bit behind. My main is a warrior, so I have one button to "charge" with the main, while the followers strafe left/right (thus spread out a little).

Even if you don't charge into combat, try to leave your followers a bit behind. The farther away they stand, the more you can move while still being in front of them.
