I am thinking of shelling out some money to fill the last memory slot on my old motherboard ('http://www.hardocp.com/article.html?art=NTM2'). Curently I have 2 gigs and can run 5 wow's up to outlands allright. But Northrend ijs barely playable with 4, but i can load 5 if im running an instance. So I am thinking that adding 1 more gig "could" help with this old system....but i guess Ill have to find out to make sure.

Question is that i have THIS ('http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820145428')(different size) memory. It is Low latency but I see that there is not anymore LL options on new egg. So with an addiktional 1gig of REGULAR memory, how do yall think it would affect everything?

whoa!! DDR [no 2]

afaik when mixing memory, you take the crappiest attributes of all your dimms and that becomes your universal setting.

Take a look at: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820134040

Here's a list of low latency ddr: http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=2010170147%201052107965%201052508679&name=2

Thank you for the links. I just realized I have a total of 2gigs over three sticks.....1x1g.....2x512mb. Its been about 6 years since I was big into building computers so i forgot alot of stuff about memory timings and what board can support what. So i think I am going to take out the 2x512 and replace it with 2x1gig.

It appears that my current memory is "2-3-2-6". Would it be worth the money to stick with this low latency vs just gettitng a cheap stick so i can add a gig?

Can't really recommend which route to take because they all seem to lead you to the same place; a maxed out 6 year old performance system.

Replacing the 2x512 with 2x1g is the only way to go as far as ram is concerned.

Time to consider a new rig.
