Hi guys,

I just want to share my fist overall experience with Command Ship.
Im a mission runner, my current setup is 2 navy megas and the gallente logistics ship Oneiros. Sure its nice to have those tracking link bonuses and the ability to rep up fast if needed.
But, last night i was running with my friends Damnation (Amarr Command Ship) with out my logistics just to try out the effectiveness of thous Armored Warfare Links.
They kick ass i can tell you. Combined with the Armored Warfare Mindlink (implant) its just sick.
We did for example AE and World Collides and i had aggro from the whole room more then once on the same toon and was never even close to break my tank.
And that bugger also has a decent tank, 4 BS beating on it with out any problems.

DPS on the other hand is on the low side, but heck the logistics has none (no bonus on turret, and only 2 turret hardpoints).
Heavy assault missiles/heavy missiles sure they make a scratch now and then but better then nothing.
Also my over all drone range will improve because this ship dont need to stay in the back out of harms way as much.
(thats the problem with the logistics, usually you keep it way back and that gimps the range on the drones)

So, sure i can run lv4s with out my logistics also ofc. just need to be more careful and pay attention a little more. But with these bonuses that this bugger gives you its just rock & roll so far.
Im still 18 days away from my own, and another 14 for the mindlink but im getting it as soon as i can. 8o
(will also post my defeat and big waste of ISK if i whipe my grp due to being sloppy with this all out new tactic)

//Cheers

Will, don't feel too bad if you do lose it. Here was my comeback to Eve! Second day after accounts re-activated.

2009.06.07 06:13:00, Destroyed: Nighthawk - Warped into a mission without my active hardeners on and alt-tabbed for some reason. Forgot I was playing and tabbed back into to capsule. (300mil isk loss)

2009.06.09 14:14:00, Destroyed: Raven Navy Issue - NPCs Scram AND Jam you in this game now? Oh.... (400mil isk loss)

2009.06.10 12:25:00, Destroyed: Mammoth, Cargo: 4,882 Datacores - So I had all those losses, but apparently 3 years of research that is worth a lot! Let's go pick em up! 5 minutes left, two jumps out of Jita, after gathering for 7 hours I AFK to pee. Come back two minutes later to a pod. Someone suicided their two attacking chars and looted with their third account hauler. (2-3bil isk loss)

It was like a welcome back to Eve! Eve is hard. ;( On the upside, I sold off my carrier and bought a Golem and have made a bit of money missioning in that thing. It's like a God in missions. So all is well if I don't think about the past. :D

I was thinking about multiboxing mission group setups recently after seeing a Damnation bait build with 600K hit points.

For a multiboxer would a traditional 'instance' setup work out? e.g. One char in a tank ship, one char in a support ship (armour/shield rep + energy transfer), and one or more chars in DPS ships, plus one or more chars with drone bonus ships?

There are a number of bait builds for some ships that would make good tanks and there are a wealth of DPs and support builds. You can do it with tech 1 ships as well. Thoughts anyone?

well my setup is at the moment 2 - navy BS's and 1 logistics running lvl4s.
The 2 BS are equally equipped armor tanks, they both have T2 medium drones (hammerheads in my case).
The BS that pulls the most aggro i put my drones to guard/FF. (means they attack everything attacking the BS)
This also includes my logistics that has T2 light drones.
The way drones work most of the time when put on guard/aggressive is, the light drones goes after the friggs as primary and the medium take on the cruiser size ships as primary.
So the drones are more or less keeping busy the whole fight with out micromanagement.

The thing is, in some missions you have multiple spawns. they will not always target the Toon nearest to them.
I had that setup before with 1 tank 1 all out dps and my logistics. It got complicated to keep track who had what aggro, and constantly jumping ships in and out is lowering your dps.
So i found that 2 identical tanks + support was better at least for me. Faster to make ISK/H.
This setup works good for me at least, I make about 80 - 150 mil a day with out playing more then 4h on average.

Ehh btw RobinGB, with mission group you mean pve missions or mission group for pvp?

I use to be a pirate, but i have not killed anyone in a long time and i have never used more then 1 account when pvping.. :|

I did mean PVE missions. I hadn't considered aggro problems like that with seperate groups. Do you know what triggers aggro? Plain proximity?

well you have proximity basically but when you trigger a spawn, they can target anything and will.
In some missions you have 5-6 spawns in the same "room". They are not always trigger'd by some event, some are also time based.
The thing is, there is no taunt mechanism as you might know. You get aggro on a non-tanking ship with to many you need to warp out.
That is why im exited about the command ship and Armor warfare link bonuses. The ship tanks great as you said your self.
Damage is low but its still some dmg. And as far as we have been testing the other day you dont need the support logistics ship anymore. (Depends on your skills and setup ofc)
Im not saying you are invincible, my corp m8 lost his paladin when testing out his command ship so.
