View Full Version : Can't decide on a new team

I recently came back off a two month break and I find myself lacking motivation to get back into raiding on my prot pally so I've been toying with the idea of multi boxing a gain probably 5 if not then three but I just can't seem to decide on a combination. like I said my main is a 80 prot pally with decent gear and i have a group of 3 mages and a priest waiting at around 56 when I stopped playing so my initial thought was to pick up where I left off but I think what I really want to do is start fresh no RAF no help from my pally other than starting gold for bags, and just take it slow and enjoy the experience of all the content that’s blown through without a second thought these days.

I want to be able to take down all the instances as I become high enough lv for them so the group needs to be effective in that aspect and pvp doesn't really interest me all that much so really all I'm looking for is PvE strength.

5x druid - I've seen a few videos and it looks fun, don't ask me why but I think I'd rather run 3 feral one boomkin and one resto insted of the normal set up but it seems a bit flimsy, so if anyone has any experience in this area I would appreciate some feedback.

1 warrior, 1 disc priest, 1 ele shaman, 1 mage, 1 boomkin - I don't have a lot of experience controlling 5 different classes like that but it looks like a solid group.

1 Warrior, 3 x warlocks, 1 priest - probably spec the locks demo and the priest holy so CoH can splash the pets to.

These are just a few of the combinations I'm considering right now I'm just looking for any kind of positive feedback to get the ball rolling. As a side note if anyone has any ideas about potential combinations that are rarely used I would like that kind of information as well.

There are lots of ways to approach this, but if you're gonna go without RAF or boosting, you really want to consider what you will consider the most fun to play, as you will be looking at them for a LONG time! In MY OPINION:
- I'd reconsider using a warrior as your tank. Not that they aren't good tanks, but they require a lot of attention, that makes boxing them tougher. Plus, while leveling, they don't add much to the team, until you get into instances.
- How about a five caster team that can be converted to tank + healer + 3xDPS when you start running instances. At least until you get to outland, there is little need for a real tank or healer, and the five DPS can blow stuff up very rapidly!
-- Something like a Feral Druid (future bear tank, caster while leveling) + Holy Priest (future healer w/ great buffs) + Boomkin Druid (DPS, Buff) + Frost Mage (DPS, buff, food, water, portals) + Destruction Warlock (DPS, phased Imp for health buff, healthstones, soul stone on healer) A team such as this would prove interesting to develop and play, and blow through world PVE with ease.

Anyway, good luck, and keep it fun! :P

Why not make it a four class team. Do the tank , mage, 2 warlock, and priest.

I have just such a team and its a hoot to play! However, there are two disadvantages to this combo.
!. The second warlock brings another cloth wearer into the group, making it tougher to get the group equipped from drops. Insert a boomkin into the group makes leater caster gear drops useable, and an elemental shaman would even add caster mail drops useability.
2. Generally, pets aren't very useful in a party, so which demon would the second lock use? I use the fel hunter dog, set on passive, for the huge intel buff. However, this buff is just enough bigger than the mage intel buff that it over-rights it, and removes it. As long as the pet remains passive, he never dies, so that's no problem, but it removes one of the reasons for bringing the mage along. I put up with it as I just love playing mage's and warlocks, my two very favorite classes!

yeah to many cloth wearers could make it a bit squishy. I like hunters ...

I like the idea of useing ranged dps specs in till instances get harder and to be honest the only reason I was pushing the warrior was for the simple fact that I don't have one yet, maybe I'll do a 3-4 warrior team later just the say I did it. On a slightly unrelated note I always hated making teams with different starting zones that and mulgore sucks.

Thanks agin for the input i'll update this post as I make progress.

Troll powah then!

make a full troll team. Warrior - mage/shaman/hunter - priest :-)
Same starting zone, not mulgore. multi class. looks cool .
annoying bit is that you'll share mail and cloth on 2 toons. then again, hunters and elem shamies dont use the same mail.

Finally got around to doing it team is:

Fury warrior (prot later) gave him heirloom shoulders and the 2h axe and he tear stuff apart on his own should be fine for low lv tanking if need be

Elemental shaman

Balance druid - started the group with two shamans droped one and had the other grant lvs to the druid to skip mulgore

Frost mage

Holy priest

All Latin names with a Latin guild name in the works (narrowed it down to three choices.)

So far so good finished defensive stance and fire totem quest last night with everyone around lv12 so I think I'll finally assing healing keys and tear RFC apart.

Looks good - should be a lot of fun if you take your time and enjoy the levels.

Best of luck!!
