60-80 - How?

With a 80 pally in decent prot gear - is 60-80 faster boosting or just 4/5 box questing?

I'd assume a mixture of both. I haven't gotten a team to 80 yet but people here say that the Northrend quests become quite mind-numbing after awhile and you just have to jump into an instance and kick some ass for a little bit. :)

I boosted 4 druids up to 70. Ramparts and mana tombs are both good up to 65. Clearing UK up to the first boss can be done at level 65 til 68 or 70 when questing in northrend might be faster.

I had all 4 of my druids putting HoTs on me and keeping me topped off so I could grab huge pulls without stopping. I did mostly only rest XP but it wouldn't take that long without it just to get to 68.

My level 80 team I didn't do any quests except instance quests and a few of the starter northrend ones for good gear upgrades. I leveled by clearing instance after instance. Best part about doing it that way is you will have all the best gear possible for your level. I dont think I had a single green since about level 73.

This is a sort of casual approach to leveling though because you only get a level of rest per week so it will take you 10 weeks to get 70-80. If you play more than 1 team at a time you will never run out of rest on both of them in the 70s.

questing is faster. Well it was for me. I tried boosting with a nicely geared paladin and it turned out that just doing quests was way faster, especially when you hit Nagrand. That zone is so loaded with xp. You will be 70 before you are done with Blade's Edge.

Agreed. Questing is most definately faster.

Run an instance for gear when you get bored.

Run quests to grind out the levels. Especially 72-80...if you quest those levels, you should hit 80 with close to 2k on each toon.

Thanks guys, and since I only intend on leveling one team at this point it saves me of having to solo level/boost the 5th character.

just did 60-65 using a average geared prot pali

1-10 - quest
10-20 - WC
20-45 - SM
45-60 - Strat
60-63 slave pens and UB runs - doing full runs as t saves having the "too many instances2 crap all the damn time on my server
64-65 - mana tombs - 1 pull per room.

I'm still working my team up to 60, then need to to another four-some to 30 to be able to gift a 5th character up to 60.

Then I've elected to go with the level by quest with 5 characters approach, I'll see if I can get some good numbers out of it. Don't expect to start the 60-80 until in another week or so though.

Took me about 17 days played (all inclusive; including pvp, random fun, ah, training, idle, etc.. etc...) to get my first team to 80 - and about 13 days for the DK - so you can see most of that time was spent 60->80... but I didn't know northrend and took my time so I guess this is probably a "max" and most people should do much better
