The more i play with the new 'Interact with Target' keybind, the more I realise how much this makes life easier!!

It lets me:

1) Use melee classes, you can make them run up to an enemy and attack it

2) Do jump shooting, you can make your character spin to face the target in mid air

3) Make my slaves run up to a body and loot it, without clicking in thier windows at all (all from the master)

4) Use lightwell effectively, target the lightwell, press interact with target and they run up to it and use it

5) Make my slaves talk to a quest giver without clicking in their windows (all from the master)

It's great!

For people who do know what I'm talking about, try it. Just keybind 'Interact with Target' and *dont forget* to activate 'Click to Move' as well.

keybind

keybind.

Push 'ESC'. Go to keybinds. A few down, in targeting section, there is a interact with target. Put in a nice key you like in there (I use shift-5) for my alts and bam. It helps a lot.

Hmmm. I do not believe the OP Is looking for any insight on the matter, but instead he's just letting us know how awesome the new "Interact with Target" ability is...especially with Click to Move enabled. And I agree with him as well :)

yes, interact with target is pure win

combine it with jamba, and selecting flight paths becomes one click (and having 5 characters zip off on a bird @ the same time is cool)

set jamba to auto-repair and auto-junk-greys... and you can run up to a vendor, target, hit your /assist keybind.. then your interact with target keybind. and everyone will repair and auto-junk. very nice

Perhaps I never payed enough attention to the new interact with target feature, but...could the OP please explain how to do #'s 3 & 5. I didn't know you could have everyone loot and deal with quest-giving npc's without having to mouse over to the slave window.

" 1) Use melee classes, you can make them run up to an enemy and attack it

interact-with-target not interact-with-mouseover

so... click the vendor or body... hit /assist so all your toons get the same target... then hit your interact-with-target

Is lightwell targetable ? (I haven't played my team with a priest since the new interact with target) - because anything else that's not alive or a corpse isn't sadly - I wish I could target mailboxes, portals, etc... and use the keybinding - does it really work on lighwell ? what about dungeon portals and lock summons or stones ... ?

I have not used it myself seeing as InnerSpace's mouse repeater works just fine in areas like that.

:thumbsup:Yep, this is what I have been doing. It even makes some of the collection quests tolerable. target mob, hit assist/interact, mob is looted. If the character that looted already has all the quest objects he needs, I just need to press it a second time. Merchants, flight paths, quest givers, class trainers... it's awesome.

Lightwell is targetable. Think of it as a pocket healer. Pretty much no aggro from it since it is cast before combat. I haven't used it much, but it does work. I target it on my main and then push assist and then interact with keybind.

Like Tonuss said, it makes quests much easier where you have to loot 10 bones or whatever.
I use it on another way to make the FastQuest Spam easier to read. My 1st slave has CTLR+1 as keybind on Interact with Target, my second CTRL+2 etcetc...

So i can choose the slave which will loot the targeted corpse. Works very well.

This. I have been using it with my pally, and it is pure, pure win. She's following a level 80 as she levels, and now she can tank while doing so! I can see certain procs from the corner of my eye, too, like Hammer Of Wrath. Love love love love this.

Also, what I love is that she can *follow* mobs - hit the IWT button, she runs up and starts swinging. Say the Lock grabs aggro, and the mobs moves through her towards th main? In the past, not much - now, hit the /follow key, she turns, IWT, and she's back in business. This could be VERY useful for rogues, as she ends up behind the mob.

I'm also using it to level melee weapon skill. My druid needs to level maces some more, so she gets to use IWT and her mace. Easy!

When fighting an elite, how do you make sure the melee slaves attack them from behind? Should I just aggro the mob and rotate them away from the team, and THEN press interact with target keybind?

As before: run through the boss with the main/tank, turn around and hit - the boss/elite/mob should turn to face your main and be hit in the back by your alts

Search results

Search results 1-20 of 165 for ""interact with target""
These search terms are highlighted: "interact with target" *Sigh* If only this was todays news. It *IS* good information, but it would be much better in any of the other dozens of threads on the subject.

Do i need two macros ?

The /assist and then the interact or can I just click on the target and push the /interact with macro button.

You need one macro, on each slave.
The macro is to assist the leader, so the slave is targeting whatever the leader is also targeting.

Once this is done, you need a keybinding, which is not a macro.
You'd press escape, go into the keybinding options, scroll down to "Interact With Target", and pick a keybind that isn't used elsewhere.

In practice, the main - master/active toon selects whatever you'd like the slaves/followers to interact with.
You then press your assist macro, so the slaves are all targeting what the master is targeting.
You then press your keybind to interact with target.

Done.
The slaves have interacted with target, be it a quest giver, flight path, mob to loot etc.
Without ever going to their windows to make a selection with your mouse.
Combined with Jamba, you can have your slaves mirror the masters flight path selection, quests to take, quest rewards etc.

Does anyone spam interact with target in pvp to keep a melee team on an enemy player?

I don't have any melee teams but I want to try one out now.
