View Full Version : Sticky for multi multiboxing? (10/25 man content)

Teht and I made an initial foray into Nax10 yesterday. Took three shots at Anub without much more than a basic strategy discussion pre-run. Teht knows Nax well. I, on the other hand, am a newb as I haven't raided much solo.

Really not too bad for a minimal prep run.

However, after doing a lot of searching here for tactics on multiple multi-boxers trying 10/25 man content I think we have a need for a consolidated thread on the topic. I could see a "General" group of content on basic set-up ideas, macros, ui's, etc. The other obvious sub-sections would be boss specific strategies.

Any interest in getting a sticky started with this type of information? While far from expert, I'd be happy to try and edit/maintain an intial post similar to how I've seen very solid expert threads develop at forums like elitist jerks, etc. Sure seems like such a sticky would make sense as the next one in this particular subforum here.

Thoughts?

sounds good, because these kinds of posts always get lost after 5 posts when the home screen portal pushes it past the limit... there neeeds to be a way so that the quests can be found for this topic in a small folder kindof thing.. (i know this is done for eerything else)

I think you mean, "some people don't read the stickies." Unless they're posting in them, you won't know about the people who do read them. If something seems to call for a sticky, definitely stick it.

Surely its better to tell someone to 'read the sticky' rather than 'use search' because we all know that 90% of people cant search to save their lives

My point isn't to put up a sticky to address poor forum users. Rather, it would be to create a composite place to house the collective thinking of the community on the topic. Much like the stickies in this very subforum are today. (Heroic Tactics, etc.)

A simple scan of the redundant posts justifies my view point on the subject.
The simple fact that I personally have read and refer back to many of the stickies, several of which have seen a great deal of activity, means that the viewpoint, "nobody ever reads the fucking stickers", is wrong. It doesn't even sound right. Stickies aren't a 100% solution to redundant topics but they don't need to be perfect to be useful. I'd much prefer to see a sticky pertaining to my question than to have to sift through twenty almost-but-not-quite-relevant search results.

I'd like to see a consolidated raid multiboxing topic be stickied. It's not interesting to everyone but it's at least as important to the hobby as, say, the FTL and heroic tactics threads, and seems likely to become more generally interesting as players get multiple teams to 80.
