Ok I'm starting over on a new server. I really really dont want to do 1-60 again, so Im thinking I will RAF (which is expired on my accounts.) Anyone know how to do this cheaply? I really dont want to shell out for 5 new accounts + WoTLK to get the RAF. What is a fool to do? ?(

RAF in four new accounts daisy-chained from one of your existing accounts (A->B->C->D->E) (vanilla wow only). RAF benefits expire after L60 anyways, so you don't need the expansions for those toons. Then you're only paying $19x4 for vanilla WOW and then $25x4 for transferring the toons to existing accounts you have after L60.
Just make sure to make full use of the grant-a-level feature of RAF before you transfer the toons off. You may not want any L30's to go with them just yet, but someday you might and they'll be sitting around waiting if you do. Also, of course, if you level another 5x toons to 60 on those accounts within the initial period then you can grant those 30's all the way to 59 (or 60, or whatever) and have 5 additional 60's for future use.

hmm so that's 19x4 +25x4 so $176 for the first set of characters and then 100 for each after that I level up. Seems kinda spendy =/
So 30 x 5 + 33 x 5(expac) is 315 so I guess if you plan on leveling up more than 2 sets of characters you should just rebuy your accounts. Otherwise transfer is best option.
edit: Oh, but that doesnt take into account how much you save on subscription costs, which Im not sure about.

Mmm..
This is totally off the top of my head so it may be a load of crap, but how about:
If you already own accounts A, B, C, D, E
then buy vanilla only accounts F, G, H and link
A --refer--> F
B --refer--> G
G --refer--> H
Level A B F G H together.
Then at 60 transfer the 3 chars from F, G & H to LK accounts C, D, E.
Total cost = 3 x Vanilla WoW + 3 x Transfers, which should be less than 5 x Battlechest + 5 x LK.
Disadvantage is that costs go up if RAFing more than one set of five.
[Edit: Holy carp, a lotta posts got in there while I was typing!]

The question is how many new teams do you want to level and what kind of free time do you have on yoru hands. I mean it might be worth it if your just looking to level 1 or 2 teams. But if your looking to do 5 teams over the course of 3 months then you might just want to buy all new accounts. And its not like you have to buy BC and WotLK at once. You could level your teams to 60 and then once you got all the teams you wanted to 60 then upgrade to BC and then level the teams to 70 .. etc That woud allow you to break the cost up over time.

Actually it makes more sense to rebuy 4 accounts. You get free months. Currently I have to pay 75 just to play again, add that to the $19x4 for vanilla WOW and then $25x4 for transferring and it is $250ish. For just one group. If I did 2 groups it would go to 350.
So it appears if I plan to level more than one group it makes more sense to buy 4 battle chests + wotlk (4x30 + 4x33 = 252. So you save about 2 dollars if you only plan on leveling one group. Actually you get more by re-buying as you get 1(?) free month for each of the RAFs. So ya I think I will be buying them all over again =/
editx2: now the question is: What server has an active raiding Alliance multiboxer guild?

This Doesn't work, to transfer across accounts both accounts must have the same amount of expansions.
Sorry
Edit: Thats so annoying then :@ i asked a GM and They told me both accounts have to be the same!
I hate Blizz some times

Account Restrictions:
- Transfers between accounts can be done only if you are the registered user on both accounts. (We do not support the transfer of characters between friends, guild mates, or family members.)
- Trial accounts are not eligible to send or receive characters. To remove trial restrictions please upgrade to a paid account.
- Characters may not be transferred to or from a suspended, temporary or permanently disabled account.
- Customers with expansion accounts cannot transfer characters to a non-expansion account. The reverse is accepted.
I'm guessing you can't do LK to BC and that the wording wasn't updated for lich king's release.

Sorry
In case Zaelor's post wasn't clear, what you said is incorrect. You can transfer from a non-upgraded account to an upgraded account.

Why would you level up a bunch of 60's and transfer them to your existing accounts? Wouldn't it just make sense to transfer the toons on your existing account? Unless you like to level....:P

This is how I would do it. I would fire up 3 of my old accounts. 1,2,3.
Account 1 has your booster super level 70+ guy (I hope you have one).
Account 2 RAF's NewAccount A
Account 3 RAF's NewAccount B
Now your back to 5 accounts with 4 of them on RAF for quick leveling. Also account 2 and 3 will get a free month of play for the RAF so your out $5 for the two new accounts is all.
So your looking at 3x$15 to renew 3 accounts and 2x$20 for the new accounts to get started. $85 for the first month. And $45 for the second with the 2 free months from RAF. So 60 days of 5 accounts of wow for $130.
It will cost more for the expansions if your new accounts didn't already come with at least BC.

Or...you could level like the old school people instead of taking the easy way out.

I have been playing this game since release, so trust me I have leveled about 20(?) characters to 60 over the years and I really really have no interest in those levels again. I guess I could do it, but I much prefer to race through them. If I did buy all new accounts I would not keep my old ones, the whole point of this is starting over on alliance, not keeping my hordies.
edit: Is Fur still playing. I really dont want to start on a server that everyone is about 1 week from taking a sabatical 8|
