Does anything like this exist?
Basically an addon that you make a macro (s) on one account and they show up on other accounts?

(i did search for this but probably used wrong words / terminology)

Thanks.

One benefit of using macaroon is you can copy the macaroon*.lua files from the WTF\Account\<accountname>\<servername>\<charname>\SavedVariables directory to the SavedVariables directory of a.n.other char and they receive your complete Macaroon setup, bars, macros, keybinds etc etc.

That's a big help if you're doing identical chars, ie. setup macaroon for your first Shammy, close WoW, then copy the Macroon*.lua files from <shammy1> to <shammy2>/3/4/5 and you have saved bucket loads of time.

Just one more reason to use Macaroon :)

I need to have yet another bash at Macaroon.

I tried a couple of months ago and failed to get my head around the configuration (I couldn't even work out how to get a button onto a bar!!).

Then I started running out of character-specific macros on my shaman team last weekend and had another failed attempt. I still couldn't work out how to get a button onto a bar :pinch:

I'll have another bash this weekend - if I manage to find out why two of my WoW drones suddenly started black-screen hanging and actually get back to boxing, that is.....

There's some documentation that might help you here:

Yeah I have similar, macaroon was too smart for me, so I went to Domino's on my raiding main, now that the comp rebuild is done I'm dusting off the team, will be tweaking my UI some.
I run 4 shammies, either with an independent tank or once I get it set up, with my own tank, so repeating setup would be a big help.

I haven't tried it yet but I may be able to copy Dominos settings across accounts now that all my wow folders are symlinked for Data and Interface, so if I save a profile in Dominos on one toon it should be reachable on another.

Super Duper Macro ('http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10496-SuperDuperMacro.html') will let you create a macro on one toon and then send it to other toons. It also allows long macros.
Macro Bank ('http://www.wowinterface.com/downloads/info10835-MacroBank.html') also has a feature to send macros to other toons.

Superdupermacro allows you to share your macros with others who have the addon. It also allows for macro's above the 255 limit or whatever it is.

Edit: beaten to it. lol

Oooh. I really like the look of SDM!

I'm dead happy with Dominos as my bar mod, and it's really just the macro limit that I want to get rid of, so I suspect Macaroon does more (and therefore requires more configuration) than I actually need.

I'll give it a shot once I've worked out why some of my drone instances of WoW are so unhappy with life at the moment.

Top tip. Thanks.

Someone please post a review of SDM! I may give it a run myself as it is but this sounds like it could be a core capability type of addon for the multiboxer.

Not really a review, but here's my 2 cents. Macaroon was must too much addon for me. Like Otlecs, I am perfectly happy with the simplicity of Dominos for a bar addon...I just needed a bit more help in the macro department. One great feature of Super Duper Macro, aside from the extended macro length and the macro sharing, is that you can create what it calls "floating buttons". These are amazing for /click macros. They don't require any bar space, and you call them by using a much more logical name than "/click ActionButton9". For example you might make a floating button called "Trinkets" and then you can call it by name "/click sbf_Trinkets". This has made all of my macros so much easier to read. The only thing I can say that is even a minor problem is that if it ever breaks I'll be lost lol. Also, when you send macros between characters, if a macro by that name already exists on the other character, it won't overwrite, so if you want to edit an existing macro and then send it out (it will even send to party or guild if you so choose) you will need to delete the old version on the toons you're sending to first.

To summarize, it has a great macro sharing feature, it has a really friendly way of handling /click macros, and offers extended macro length. A must have addon for me.

SDM looks like what i want :)

I tried Macaroon because i thought that's what i needed, but all it did to my knowledge was allow off - action bar buttons with binds, which is great for me anyway, but didn't seem to have macro specific support.

Thanks.

Wow yea, I also tried Macaroon before and it was kind of a pain to use even though I did figure it out. SDM actually looks more like what I was looking for. I may have to give that a shot this weekend.

Thanks for the review Poetry.

Taking the time to write that up was an investment and the big thing that makes this community so value!

I use SDM mostly for the extended macro length for cast sequences, but I will say that in my opinion, this is far superior to Macaroon in that you are able to drag and drop your macros anywhere you like while in combat. I find myself having different macros for trash, bosses, phases during boss fights, etc... Not being able to have the freedom to move stuff around made me psycho. The sharing feature is also just about as cool as it can get. I respec'd my DK to blood just to try it out and my wife was able to send me her DPS macro straight into my character's SDM profile. SO EASY! Love this mod.
