You'd have to change this up a bit if you want to use it (most of this was from before ISBoxer had WoW Macro Actions so it's actually hitting some custom wow key binds, and I haven't updated my shaman key map for the most part, plus most of these are set to use G15 keys), but you can definitely get some ideas from how I have my shaman key map set up.

List of Mapped Keys:
All Ghost Wolf All Water Shield Weapon Buff (i.e. flametongue weapon on ele, earthliving on resto) All Chain Lightning DPS (non-resto) Chain Lightning All Lightning Bolt RR (round-robin) Earth Shock All Flame Shock Earth Totem (misnomer. misc totems from each shaman: Totem of Wrath, Tremor, Wrath of Air, Earthbind and Stoneskin, but this particular Key Map is for 4 shamans and 1 tank so no stoneskin) Thunderstorm (RR) Elemental Mastery Heal Totem (one Mana totem) Air Totem (RR Wrath of Air) Grounding Totem (all) Magma Totem (all) Searing Totem (all) All Lava Burst Purge Non-heals Attack (DPS sequence)
To view the setup:
Create a new Key Map in ISBoxer Copy the entire XML from http://lavishsoft.com/downloads/mods/shaman_keys.txt (open the link, select all, copy to clipboard)
Right click on "Mapped Keys" in the new Key Map Select "Paste Mapped Keys from Clipboard" in the context menuEdit: fixed typo, step 4 said copy instead of paste

This isn't working, right clicking on my newly created key map doesn't give me the option to copy from clipboard, only to copy to clipboard. once I copy to clipboard it gives me the copy from option, but that's the wrong one.

Trying to pull this in because I learn more effectively by revising and editing existing files, I'm terribad at writing from scratch, but I learn very well by sorting through a couple different versions of setups and seeing how they interplay.

Eons ago that's how I set up my tintin scripts in MUDs, by a frankenstein's monster of snippets from all over that I then revised a ton.

The issue might be that you're right clicking on the Key Map, rather than the "Mapped Keys" sub-item? If you have copied the XML to the clipboard, and you right click on the "Mapped Keys" sub-item of any Key Map, you will have the option to Paste Mapped Keys from Clipboard. :)

No I've been right clicking on what i think is the correct location.

I have my characters and my team defined, I go to the top window, right click on Key Maps, select New Key Map and name it Lax, for grins.

Then I go to the lower left, think that's called the context window, and if I have selected Lax above, I have Mapped keys, Character Sets, Characters.

If I right click on Mapped Keys there, I have the options of New Mapped Key or Copy Mapped Keys to Clipboard. no From option. Unless I copy to clipboard first, then it gives me the option.

Have fiddled with it several places, and I don't see it popping up. I've associated the character set with the key map, which does nothing, since the key map Lax is empty.

beta build 32, I'm sure I'm missing something, and I'm sure it's something simple.

Since I just want to PVE a set of 4 shammies, whether questing, boosted by guildie, or with a pally or raiding feral. Who'da thunk it'd be so hard?

i also tried downloading the XML to my HD, then using the Open pulldown to try and open it and got a popup with a a couple paragraphs of errors. Would have cut pasted it in but wouldn't let me.

If I open the link, select all, copy to clipboard, then i do exactly what you say you did in ISBoxer, it does in fact give me the option to paste my mapped keys.

Honestly you don't need to download my setup. You can just look at my list of keys in my post, and then decide if you want similar keys or not. If you want a key to make people LB, then you make a WoW Macro Action with /cast Lightning Bolt. It takes some creativity to make your setup of course, but there is no universal configuration. Everyone wants things differently. My G15 keyboard is a v1 with 18 keys, and you mentioned yours has 6 (maybe it was someone else) so you couldn't use my exact configuration anyway, besides the fact that you'd have to change all the keystrokes because my shaman mappings havent been updated to use all WoW Macro Actions.

Entirely possible that I didn't get it all into clipboard, though I did the standard "Open in New Tab" Ctrl A, Ctrl C.

But I digress.

I know I don't need to download your setup, I knew going in you likely had a lot more functionality in your set than I'd ever need (aside from being a 5 shammy set rather than my own 4 shammy or 4 shammy + feral booster or 4 shammy + pally set). I think you have the older version of the G15, I have the new.

I'm terrible at building from scratch, my organization ends up looking like someone threw spaghetti against the wall, and once I've gotten even a subpar setup going it tends to ossify. I'm much more effective at being able to look at a couple ways other people have approached certain challenges and synthesize my own solution from that understanding. I learn very well by contrasting how several other people have used the tools at hand. On my own starting from scratch I flounder and never get off square one.

crucial's setup linked to in [Innerspace] ISBoxer profile sharing and discussion ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=21819') has given me a lot of ideas and lets me see the interplay of the different branches and subheadings. I got a number of "Aha, so that's how that works" moments as I scanned his. Though it can be a little tough to follow a lot of the "3 -> 2" type nomenclature at times. I can even scan some of the XML files in that thread and see the organization from the formatting. Yours is a massive block of unformatted text :)

I recall reading somewhere here on D-B a nice tight organization of using the G keys for the mouse and keyboard repeater toggles and indicators for example. Searched, couldn't find it again lately. Same thing with someone had posted their keyboard layout and a spreadsheet showing the buttons along the top and the toons down the left, so you could see the synergies, couldn't find it again, though (might have been Pardall's layout but I don't think so).

I may be a perfect guinea pig for the prog you have in development making IS and ISBoxer even more idiot proof. One item I think would help in ISBoxer would be when you are building your config to have an option to generate a graphical representation of your keyboard with the current bindings.
