5 accounts registered. The really annoying part of this is they require accounts to have unique emails, so I just setup unique redirects to my gmail. Account registration was painless. the 3.4 gig download and hour and a half patching once installed, was kinda painful.
I've been doing some reading and I'm thinking I'm going to start out with Knight (or warrior, whichever shows to be the better tank), 2 mages, 1 scout, and a priest. I'm hoping to run a mixed group, I probably will be experimenting with comps for a bit. I'm planning on rolling on PvP - Grimdal so long as the population is decent. Browsing the forums there seems to be a healthy population among the servers.

Svpernova,
Are you hardware or software boxing RoM? And, if software, what multiplexing software are you using?
Thanks!

My plan is to use keyclone for 5 accounts on 4 computers. I still raid 4 nights a week in WoW. so my progress in RoM may be kinda slow.

So I hit a wall. 2 of the 4 comps I use to box won't even run RoM. (lol for old cheap hardware running WoW ftw). So, I may not be doing much in the RoM world. Or maybe not to the scale I'd like to.

After reading some on the website, I'm tempted to try to box this.
Can you run several instances on one PC like you can with WoW or is it registry tied to where you can only do one instance at a time per PC? I only have one computer, but it's more than capable of running at least 3, I would think. I do it in WoW with plenty to spare.
Also, does the in-game macro system to to be any good, or have you tried it? Does it even have one? I think I read on the forums that it does.

You can run multiple instances on 1 PC. I was having a lot of issues with Keyclone's PiP swapping. I talked to rob, we went over my settings and determined it to be a RoM client issue, so you may want to try AHK or IS. IS didn't support it back in beta, but has been updated since to support it.

many thanks, I'm downloading it now and will hopefully be trying it out once I get home from work.
I actually never used PiP. It just didn't seem to want to do right for me and I don't know if I want to give up any real estate to seen the other toons. maybe if I get a second 19" monitor one day.

I tried hardware boxing RoM and ran into an issue with mouse sharing. It's to the point that I cannot select the NPC to get the quests on the alt chars.
Anyone else running hardware and having that problem. So far I've only tried Interbox.
I'm going to go back and try Octopus, Synergy and maybe even the app I wrote for mouse broadcasting to see if it's the same issue.

The problem you're going to have w/ mouse sharing is that there is no "camera follow" feature. If you're using the FollowUnit("...") method, the camera angle is fixed on all followers.
The way you get your alt characters to select the NPC is to target the NPC on your main, and have all of your characters "attack" the NPC; it's keybinding 1 if you didn't change it. You're not actually attacking the NPC... it just opens the interact dialog, allowing you to then use /script AcceptQuest(). This also applies for looting.

The only note on this, is if you're using attack (Either in position 1 or using /script UseSkill(1,1); ) to talk to npc's / loot mobs, you need to have Click to Move turned on, or else it doesn't work.
