View Full Version : Post Your Multibox UI
Still finalizing mine - I have spent at least 8 hours working on configuring my UI mods. Good thing I can copy them to the other 9 boxes :) Up to over 120 mods (with no conflicts) right now and several of them are VERY customized. Many are built on Ace - so they are quite lightweight. It will be worth it though - real time monitoring of all of the critical data - health/range/mana/targets/etc. Pitbull/Fubar/Bongos2 = win.
I should get around to posting mine when it is completed and running with the Zins - level 1 trial accounts don't have a lot of spells so there is not a lot to see just yet. But I have just about the perfect 10 box UI setup that allows me to monitor every critical bit I need about all 10 characters at the same time - and does not display the junk I don't need.
If you have some, post them and let us know why you set it up the way you did and what classes you are boxing.

I agree with Pitbull/Fubar/Bongos2 as a solid setup. I'll post my UI here soon.

I'm using different three different UI's - one on my main PC, one on my three warlocks and one for the Shammy.
This is the most important - the main PC :
http://img261.imageshack.us/img261/7430/wowui2alphacs7.jpg (http://imageshack.us)
1. Focus target - I use this for a lot of things
2. Four targetted hot keys, one for each party member, using the Paladin iinstant ability Righteous Defence. This taunts up to 3 mobs off a targetted party member. Because the ability is used by targetting a party member, I'm using focus as target, so I don't have to change my attack target.
3. Five targetted hot keys, one for each party member, doing Pallie heals. Again uses focus target.
4. A bank of hot keys linked to the Shammy, doing targetted heals.
5. This add on displays which party member has aggro, amongst many other things.
6. An add on that tracks how much aggro each party member generates.
7. Two banks of hot keys linked to all PC's. I'm using keyboard broadcast but not mouse broadcast, so if I use the mouse then only the main PC (Paladin) abilities are used. If I press the hot key then all PC's use their relevant abiltiies at the same time.
At this instant, you can see from 5 and 6 in the screenshot above, that Deelight (Shammy) has aggro. I need to click on the Deelight hot key in 2.
This hot key will instantly set Deelight as my focus target and use Righteous Defence on my focus target (Deelight). This taunts the mobs off of Deelight and on to my Pallie and resets the aggro table, putting the Pallie at the top.
I can recommend All Deuce UI; its a compilation of Addons that gives the majority of the functionality I use, plus it works with the one click updater app. The guys over there put a lot of work into it.

Xzin's World of Warcraft 2.0 10 Boxing UI Interface
The general idea is the player fights in the middle. Relevant information fans out based on importance and follows a logical HUD design. Items such as cast bars or decursive will expand into the main viewport when needed. Life bars are uniform and every buff/debuff is in the same spot around the lifebars. Chat space has been minimized (I have considered extending the resolution to the bottom of the screen (I play on 30" monitors, mounted vertically) to allow for more chat (non combat) space. Cast bar is just above decursive mini bars. The X-keys Pro is mirrored in game to show the same spells as the actual one, and even changes every key to another layer on screen when alt is held down, in real time. Health bars are color coded based on amount of life remaining. Casting monitor ensures that all are targeting the same target. Not visible in the screenshot but class colored healthbars appear above every hostile, making them easy to target. Every lifebar is color coded by class, to enable faster recognition of targets to more quickly adapt to differing play styles and anticipated spells (grounding totem, pally bubble, etc). Multiple conveniences UI mods are integrated, such as auto raid acceptance, all in one bags, mail mods, flightmap timers, better tooltips (float on the mouse) and party quest trackers help to round it out. I am VERY pleased with this setup.
You will have to rename the WTF/Accountname, /WTF/Accountname/ServerGoesHere and /WTF/Accountname/ServerGoesHere/CharacterNameHere.
The UI may still look funky - you may have to universal find replace the character name. I used Xzinnss as the name.
Setup for 1600 x 1200 resolution only and only for 10 boxing 2 Priests, 4 Locks, 4 Mages. You may want to redo the Pitbull frames to show more
raid members or party members. Just about everything can be moved or locked down. I modified the camera distance to zoom out further than the default UI allows. 10 Players lends itself to more of a macro level view :)
Support for an X-Keys Pro has been setup with alt key page flipping. Logically arranged HUD with easy to monitor debuff and life bar monitoring.
Casting Bars for Raid casts, warlock specific options turned on. Assumes 2nd 5 box leader will be either main tank or main assist.
Acceptance allows for auto raid/party invite acceptance -
Helpful Invite Macro
/invite Names1-X
/mt YOURALTMAIN
/target YOURMAIN
/run SetRaidTarget("target",Z) (where Z is 1-7)
/targetlasttarget
/target YOURALTMAIN
/run SetRaidTarget("target",Z) (where Z is 1-7)
/targetlasttarget
Some tips:
/omnicc (cooldowns)
/ttip (tool tip)
/bindpad (more buttons)
/classtimer (buff timers)
/drdamage (change theorycraft like tooltip estimates)
/quartz (casting bars)
/sct (scrolling combat text)
Everything else should have a FuBar addon. To change your unit frames, change X-Perl and Pitbull.
To change your Casting Bars, change Bongos.
Known issues - Supermacro's Super Macros do not show the proper icon on Bongos. Still looking for a fix.
Enchantrix is outdated.
Runs about 35 Megs idle. UI is around 14 megs zipped.
I have not extensively tested this with my group yet so it may need some additional tweaking.
All told, it took me approximately 22 hours to set this up from scratch. If you like it - drop me a line. I worked my ass off to tweak just about EVERYTHING that used to be in the default UI.

Looking for a host and finalizing my names for the locks. If there is interest, I will release it.
I realize that the above UI might be a BIT busy. That was the combat version. Here is the non combat version. See how the relevant information slides into place when you need it and goes away when you don't?

Xzin, Nice work on the UI!
Right now I’m trying to build my own, now that I’ve finished the macros. You have listed some here that I’ve never worked with before. I really like what you have done with the Quarts add-on you suggested. I like/want to use it. But I’m having trouble setting it up. Basically how you have it laid out now is how I want it. I never could get in to Perl frames. Not that it doesn't look cool but I have a Color deficiency and struggle with Perl.
You actually can't see the Quartz add on in the pictures - that is the cast frame. The main unit frames I use is Pitbull, an Ace based addon that I highly recommend.
Xzin,
Very cool.
What addon/UI component displays X-keys as part of your UI?
Bongos actually. You have to modify it to setup more action bars though.
I used to use Flexbar - SO MUCH HARDER TO USE.
Go under actionbars, set it to the number you need. 12 for the Xkeys Pro single layer, 24 for alt, ctrl, shift modifiers.
Then set them up individually and assign keybinds and if you did 24, then hide the other 12. Make sure you set the modifier for each action bar - right click it and set alt to 1 for example to have action bar 1 become 2 or 12 for action bar 1 to become 13.
Unhide to drag new macros/etc to the second layer.
What used to take me 5 hours takes 10 minutes. SO much better.
Duh, I should have thought of that!
Thanks for the quick response. :)

Here is what I did with yours Xzin,
I like the default Blizzard bar, and main portraits. Also KTM, only because the text a bit easier for me to read. I kept your Pitbull setup the same because I just love it.
Still have to get target, targets, target window to work with the default blizzard one, as you can see it has a pearl frame. Also now that I look at it. I should put Quarts cast bar back on as the default blizzard one will be in the way. When I add more members to group, the health bars will scale down and be under that cast bar.

KTM is a resource hog :) Can you change the readability of Omen? Thought you could. Quartz is great :)

Xzin, how did you get your party's pets to show up like that?
I had everything planned for my warlock/priest combo, until I found out that I'd have to use /follow which meant my priest being on the main screen (to avoid being out of range), so now I don't have a pet window. Mostly ToT takes care of this, but if the main target is hitting a clothie while 3 adds are hitting my voidwalker it can give some serious complications.
Both X-Perl and Pitbull Unitframes have options to turn on pet bars and configure them as much as you want. I would try pitbull first.
Those are actually the other 5 zins, not the pets, but one could setup pitbull to display pets in place and look exactly the same.

Yes you can... there's a skin for it that makes the bars and fonts huge. I don't remember which one it is but theres only 4 of them trial and error will get you the name :-)
