new to multi-boxing and just got a pally and mage to 34 after one week of playing. Quite fun actually.

but the problems comes when i want to go instances. I tried deadmines at 20, but i cant even get thru the first boss with my pally and mage. they dmg on my pally is jus too much and my pally run out of mana.

any recommendations on 2-boxing going to instances?

is there any other class that could do 2-boxing on most old world instances? one of the reason i got into trying multi boxing was fun of going instances alone...

I suspect that you won't be able to two box many instances until you have outlevelled the instance significantly.
You don't have a healer to top up your paladin tank either so that will make it even harder.

that is true actually. I tried stockade when i was 33 on both and died a few times due to extra pulls. so i suppose i cant do much instance with this pair. was looking at warlock/hunter or hunter/hunter pair but i suppose old world end game instances is a no no too since pets cant tank as well as pally or warriors..

2-boxing is very fun for me.. i think adding another acct would become stressful for me, thats y still sticking to 2 atm..

Plus your tanks aren't worried about mana, or other resource issues.

Just keep in mind that once you hit outlands I doubt that you'll be able to 2 box any instance your own lvl.

yeah.. the instances in outland is too much for even 3.. need at least 4 or 5 imo to b fairly easy.. anyway.. thanks for the tips.. but atm i shall hit 60 with my pally/mage first before i switch to another team to take advantage of raf...

I run a prot pally and holy priest and so far I've managed to two box SM:Lib, SM:GY, and RFD, at the appropriate level too. The damage mitigation being prot spec is insane, and the healing from a holy priest kicks butt too.

Out in the open world I've had a number of 15 vs 2 fights that I've come out of with 100% health on both toons, 100% mana on the pally (thank you blessing of sanctuary, spiritual attunement, and holy shield), and about 50% mana on the priest.

Thinking of trying Uldaman two-man soon...

i see.. seems priest/pally is a better combination than pally/mage... i took mage for the dps... and at times my pally run oom and not able to hold aggro..

hi

i started with 2boxing and wanted to see how i faired with instances. I had priest/paladin and paladin/paladin up to TBC.

The problem i found was some instances were ok and i could do at appropriate level, like a lot of SM for example.
But, as soon as the mobs start using more polymorph, fear, MC, silence etc then it gets much more difficult as theres only 2 of you. Yes you can counter some of it but it all becomes quite fragile and frustrating.
Its fun with 2 chars, you can do a lot more than solo, but you have to accept that its just not enough as the game progresses and you will probably end up adding more chars :)
im on four now, determined not to go up to five, but we'll see!

i had a druid-druid duo, that worked brilliantly until i got to ramparts.. i finished the whole damn thing including vazruden or whatever, at level 62, but it took many attempts and far too much time and i just decided that although it could be done it just wasnt worth the effort.
So i added a DK, this worked really well for the majority of TBC (still some bosses i couldnt do) and at 70 i could clear labs in just under an hour, but i had to skip some instances even so.
Utgarde keep first boss i dunno why but i just couldnt do it and the old frustration factor set in and i decided it was time for an upgrade!

so now im building my 4 man, DK, paladin, druid, priest. bring it on :)

I started of with 2, then to 4. (pala/2x mage/holy priest)
Couldn't really do any boss in WotLK due to bad gear.
Got an extra account, transfered the pala to a new one, and used the hunter i got on the ex-pala's account.
Everything goes much better now, last weekend i farmed 28 badges of conquest to get a nice belt.
With 2 chars, you'll really be wiping all the time.

When I started multiboxing I ran a 3-man team consisting of a protection paladin, a fire mage and an elemental shaman. I could run most instances in vanilla WoW at the appropriate level. Some were harder though, like Sunken Temple and the last boss in SFK, and some were easier, like all four wings of Scarlet Monastery.

Then my inflated ego met Outlands and more specifically Hellfire Ramparts at level 61 in half Azeroth blues and half Outland greens. My group was completely murdered by the first groups of trash. I didn't even make it to the first boss. I tried again at level 62 and then again at level 63 but I still couldn't clear the instance. I decided to start 5-boxing instead and added a fury warrior and a holy paladin to my team. I also optimized the damage from the dps chars (which were pretty terrible before). After these changes I could clear all normal instances in Outland, but they were still not easy.

The same thing happened again when I ran my first instance in Northend; Utgarde Keep. The first boss murdered my team and I couldn't get pass him until I was level 73. The dungeons in WotLK are one more step up on the difficulty ladder for a multiboxer since a lot of the boss fights require movements. I added some new key bindings: Four for moving all melee chars up, down, left or right, and four for moving all casters in the same directions. After some practice I could clear all normal instances except Oculus and the third boss in Halls of Lightning with a group of a protection paladin, fury warrior, combat rogue, fire mage and resto shaman. This comp is certainly not the easiest to play, so I guess you will be spared from a lot of headache I had if you go with a more normal comp.

(Now I have replaced the rogue with a retri paladin and clear half of the heroics.)
