I just made 80 on my alliance shammies this morning. Unlike with my Horde Shammies I had decent gear when I started to pvp and it was alot easier. This time however I am running around in quest green/blues. From what I see you don't get very many points for having an under 1500 rating so is there really a point in doing 10 games a week ATM or just wait until I have some better gear?

You still get a few hundred points for low rating I believe.

From 0 to 1500 everone get 344 points in 5v5 wich is almost a hatefull pice each week, now it only costs 12k honor and 350 arena points for the chest, legs and head. Unless your planning some insane honor farming this would be the easiest way to get good gear in an ok rate. Just do 10 matches and get free gear wich will make you able to compete with most teams.

The other way is to get to 1300 rating and buy deadly gear wich costs 700 or 750 per slot (cheaper for the shoulder and gloves)

I tried putting ratings into the armory and it changed my points. Anyone have the link where it says that just so I can confirm. My priest is being anal about not playing with me unless I buy a 1k rated team for points.

The armoury calculator is NOT updated with the new changes.

Play 10 matches below 1500 and recive the same amount of arena points as a 1500 rated team.

If your priest is going mental just kick him, there are 1000 who will beg you to play with them. I get asked 3-4 times each week if i need they can be my healer, there are times it would be nice to just switch to a paladin but i feel its better with 1 in the long run.

Ive most likley played 100-200 bgs before i started arena for real and i played 4-5 classes at highest lvl pvp, but still it took me 300 matches to get used to playing in the arena. (bged alot on 70 with my shamans)

352 matches and there are only 10 teams that can stress me enough to do mistakes, there used to be 100 teams! Dont expect arena to be a joyride in the start and if you know your priest is a whiny bitch who expect you to sky rocket to 2k rating you might aswell just kick him.

A: Ditch the priest. Get someone patient and who wants to try something new and exciting.
B: PVP your ass off for the next 1-2 months if you want to catch up on gear. Do wintergrasp once a day, daily BG, holiday weekends etc. Even heroics (stonekeepers shards) count towards honor these days.
C: Do your 10 games a week, no matter what. You'll be in deadly gear within 2 months.
D: Be patient, and try to have fun. I'll be honest... until you really start getting the gear, 5v5 can be just so dam stressful. Enjoy the wins, laugh ur ass off like we do, and when you lose, pick 1 thing you did wrong and learn from it. I still mess up all the time, it happens (see: mashing my TS sequence when i get pissed at a cleave team... and burn them all at once lol)

Good luck, and those of us who have been running this comp for a while are always more than happy to help out! Dont give up, it DOES work... just requires an ass ton of practice :P
