Hi,
im use keyclone since the version 1.8k, last week i have updatet to the verison 1.9g.
The new Version makes big, big trouble on my system
1) it comsumes 25% of the cpu power of all 4 cpu´s
2) it hangs up and cant be stoped regular, only with the taskmanager i can kill the task!
Remember, the only change on my system was the update vrom 1.8k to 1.9g, with the old version of keyclone no one of the symtoms are there.
Please help me ;(

I'm experiencing the exact same issues. Keyclone hangs and consumes 13% of CPU (of an i7).
This mostly happens when I quit out of wow windows, though even when it doesn't do that it happens when I quit out of keyclone. I haven't been able to shut down keyclone without it doing this for a couple of weeks now.
Glad to know I'm not the only one.

did you start keyclone as admin? by this i mean, right-click/run-as-admin and not just being logged in as admin

I disabled my UAC and this happens (run as admin is grayed out and automatically checked).

i believe in vista keyclone needs to have admin rights to insure it is able to properly send keys between unrelated applications.

Thx for the reaktion,
but i not use vista, i use XP SP3 on a quad-prossors System.
Btw i have try to start the keyklonce.exe with the "Start as..." option, result: the same like before.
I have testet a little bit more, so i start 2 wow´s, only if i login and then leave one ore both of them the cpu fires up. ;(
can i deliver some information to assist you to finde the problem ?

when your cpu is under load... are you hitting any keys? or is it just sitting there?
are you in-game? does it use any cpu before you run the games?

When it is under load, it just sits there. Whether I press keys or not.
I've had this happen both in-game and after quitting games, not before running a game.
Sometimes the CPU spikes up and keyclone still works fine, but eventually it completely crashes and won't respond.

by under load i meant, when your cpu is spiked... had you been pressing the keys or was it just idle?
what type of settings are you using for your keyclone?
any mouse mappings?
maximizer?
how much memory on your machine?
what is the memory usage @ when the cpu spikes?

No, I could do a /quit in wow outside an inn, not press any keys until it quits. The moment it quits keyclone would spike up in cpu (but not always stop responding at this point).
Standard settings I think, no mouse maps, maximiser for 2 monitors, 5 regions.
Memory usage stays the same at 8mb. 12gb ram on my machine.
Also, something else worth mentioning (I might have done in PMs at one point). My wow windows do not get removed from the keyclone window after I quit out of them.
Keyclone still shows 5 active wow windows even after I have quit all of them.

I give you a complete Actionplan what i´m doing to create the problem:
Step
1) Start up the Computer
2) Login into Windows XP
3) Start up Keyklone
4) Start up wow (Mainchar) and wow (1st Twink) with Keyklone
5) Login into both WoW´s (Password are entered simultan, both account use the same password)
6) Leaving one of the startet WoW´s
After one of the WoW (startet with Keyklone) are stoped, Keyklone hangs up.
On my Computer it use 25% of all 4 CPU´s and Keyklone can´t stoped from his menue (rightclick on Keyclone, use the menue-item „close“ or using the X on the right top of Keyklone.
The ONLY way to stopp it, is kill the task with the taskmanager!
Before i stopping one of the startet wow, Keyklone don´t use to much cpu, it works fine. I can play any timeperid ( 1 Minute to 12 Hours) with no cpu problems.
Help this information ?

Rob, I am experiencing this same issue on both of my boxes as well. If any of the wow windows are closed then Keyclone spikes to 50% CPU usage(dual-core, not quad for the person that goes to 25%). Sometimes I can close Keyclone via the icon/menu but normally I have to go into task manager to close it. While it is a pain at times when I am going x number of screens to 1 or 2, it is workable since I know it happens. I just usually end keyclone from task manager, which closes all my wow windows, and relog into my accounts after starting keyclone and however many wow screens I need at that time.
Edit: I am using 2 XP boxes fully patched currently.

hmph. i have not been able to reproduce this yet.
could it be something in your settings? try copying your keyclone folder, then delete the keyclone.ini file and start that keyclone. do you get the same effect?
also, please download the alpha and unzip it into the test folder
get the current alpha here: http://solidice.com/keyclone/wifeagro
let me know how it goes,
Rob

Rob, it won't take much to restartwith keyclone(deleting everything I have and just starting fresh) for me. I will try a few things tonight before using the alpha because maybe it is one setting somewhere that is causing this issue. If I figure it out, I will talk to you on ICQ if you're available.

Rob, sorry I never got back to you since then but I have been on vacation, about to leave again, and haven't been in game or the forums for more than a week now. Anyhow, I did some testing and still received the problem without being able to isolate what caused it. Basically, anytime after starting my wow instances (usually 4, but tested with 3/2/1 also) if I closed one then my CPU usage would shoot to 50% at a minimum until I closed KeyClone. I have not had a chance to test the alpha you linked but after the holiday when I return from the second half of my vacation, I will be sure try that out.

I didnt look at the CPU usage or the like but I am using Win7 RC, I had either the Pause or DNP override on so that box was visible, I right clicked on the task bar entry for keyclone and hit close (It showed a box for the app and the overlay) the app went away, the overlay was always there and would not go away, I had to kill it..
Ive only had this happen once but if it is some how related [shrug] figured it worth mentioning.
The MOTD says 1.9g 01may2009
