Theres literally a thousand posts detailing how to use Maximiser, if you can't work out your screen resolution and margins for 4 clones then you shouldn't bother multiboxing.

As far as changing your display to Horizontally spanning, you can't in Vista, and you don't need to anyway, as the DirectX rendering bug is removed.

if you were really as good as you think you are, then possibly just maybe you could have helped me find this post http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums2/viewtopic.php?t=2322&highlight=maximizer+margin

Or maybe you could have just searched for the post yourself.

Sun, if I had the answer to your question I would let you know. I am in agreement with you though.

Excuse me?

Now, I don't think I'm being particularly harsh to sun, this is the same answer I give to everyone who is too dumb to figure out how to use maximiser. The topic has been done to DEATH on these forums and still people are posting about it because they are too dumb/lazy to figure out their resolution and where they should accordingly put their margins. I'm not in the habit of helping those who don't help themselves, I'll give them points, but I'm not going to spoon-feed people.

If anyone was in any doubts about sun's maturity he editted out his posts, gg.

your absolutely right...no doubt about my maturity. Why keep a post that doesnt get answered but only flamed. I used to think this forum was about helping people but I was wrong. No problem. Congratulations to you.

Honestly, I don't understand why people get upset when they get called out on not using the search feature.

Maximizer really isn't that hard to figure out if you take the time to learn about it. You have a resolution of ... 1680x1050. If you were trying to create 4 equally sized windows and maximizer uses 0,0,0,0 as placements, there is literally only like 12 possibilities. Use that thing on your shoulders.

I agree that we are generally a very helpful forum, but at the same time I can understand the frustration some people feel when they see the same questions asked literally EVERY day.

There is a learning curve, but there are several stickies that detail exactly how to get started. If you aren't willing to take the time to read though them why should we waste our time telling you how to?

It is about helping people. As a community I think we do a pretty damn good job of it as well. Its been said numerous times that we aren't going to spoon-feed people.

Maximiser has been done to death, and every time its the same problem. If people *bothered* to read a) The documentation b) The posts about it - then they would solve their problems quicker than we could post a reply. Annoyingly, however people choose to post, they dont want to/cant be arsed to think for themselves. I cannot describe how annoying this is, I've been around the forums for quite a while now and once you've seen 500 or so virtually Identical posts you'd be pretty annoyed as well.

I do agree with you, I was a lurker the entire time I was getting my setup running. and I did in fact see these "Need HALP PLZZZZZZZZ" posts all the time.

I feel your pain. It's like we're getting half of the WoW forum community here since Ellay's video's have started popping up on you tube. And it is killing me, all of these people that need assistance in turning their computer on, let alone setting up a program to *gasp* do anything.

Is their a way we can force people to read though the stickies before they can post?

You guys are elitist pigs. If I can't get something to work then goddamit I post here and demand that you come to my house and fix it for me, then stay for a week to lvl my toons for me.

...sigh...to flame or not to flame. Not everything is quite so simple as you would lead us to believe. You and the other posters have no idea what lengths I went thru in my search. I could explain to you that I have tried all combinations with no results. But why bother, you apparently are convinced that noobs have no brains.

Some would take each paragraph and explain why your comments are ridiculous. All I want to do is make it apparent that people post "because" they do not understand something. DO NOT PRESUME that people have not already made a search on this forum.

Are you guys the "elitist" of this forum? If so, then this will be my last post. Good luck with the game. Happy flaming. You wont miss me 8)

There are tons of helpful people on these forums. What I don't understand though is the need to post "RTFM" replies to any question, ever. Legit or otherwise. If it isn't a legit post - leave it alone and let it die of its own accord on the vine. If it is a legit post but you don't have the answer ... either add some useful info or leave it for someone that knows more about it.

Telling someone that they shouldn't multi-box because they don't know maximizer? How is that civil? The only problem I saw with Sun's original post is that it should have been made in the correct forum. Moving it to that forum, with a note that it belonged there, would have been the best response. I donated to Ellay and to this website because I like the community. I want more people to become/understand multiboxing. Chasing them away isn't really what we should be doing.

Anyone seen my pitch fork?

;)

I do agree that some posters come accross as a little hostile at times, the problem is the new poster hasn't seen the same question posted over and over, but the regular forum goers do. The best bet is for sure to just ignore any posts you find fit the "noob" category. My previous post/comment was merely a joke to lighten the mood ^^

every forum has this problem, it is nothing new. The hostility however is something I dont see too often and is a bit absurd. These arent the oboards, people should atleast try to be civil. What ever happened to 'if you cant say something nice then dont say anything at all'. If you arent going to help the poster in a positive way, even if its something thats been asked a bajillion times why verbally insult the posters intelligence when you have no idea what their circumstances might be?

The search function is great but because there are so few variations to multiboxing a simple search of 'macro' or 'maximizer' returns many many results, and a large majority of them are not very helpful at all. And are usually filled with posts like wilbur's; a 'rtfm or gtfo stupid noob' type post. Plenty of good people here but daaaamn some peeps need to take a chill pill before posting on forums. And in sun's rightful defense I cant figure out how to get the keyclone maximizer to work either but I remember seeing a post on it so im looking for it atm instead of posting a thread but wow people...just wow..

Once you've been here over a week you might understand.

What spec are your machines? Do you have air-conditioning? Will I get fed? Home cooking? Do you have a hot sister? Are you a hot sister? What about alcohol? Do I get vodka and lime or do I have to slum it with imported beers? What about a massage after an extended WoW session? Maybe every ding?

@thinus, good machines, good AC, you will be fed, no sisters for j00, wide selection of alcohol, massage...maybe but not by me lol

well, everyone here does try to help... some require 40 grit to sand off the edges.. but in the end, they are trying to help you find your way.

i have not seen anyone on these forums deliberately try to be intentionally hostile. and if someone like that did pop up, they'd get banned... this forum doesn't tolerate childish behavior

personally, this is the only forum i have stayed with on a daily basis for 6+ months... and for that, i thank the members, moderators, and Ellay.

No, we have Wilbur :) (j/k)

Honestly, its common rule on interweb forums where people wont find or use search boxes, which can be annoying. But remember you dont have to answer. There is one more thing more annyoing then people asking about items they can find easily on searches, and that is people pointing them out to searches and UTFS comments. One of the stronger points of this forum, at least I think, ist the helpfulness of everybody, lets keep it that way.
