Ok so I have a few multiboxing PCs I don't need, with the same configuration as mine. Specs for each are as follows:
Case: 4U Rackmountable case (standard ATX etc) - I'd give a link but I don't know the model, it's just a black case with a flip-down front, lots of room for drives. Comparable cases seem to be about $80. Have rails if you want them. OS: Genuine product key sticker for XP64 OEM. Free with the case. Highly recommend installing the Windows 7 RC (free, will work until next year) for better performance
Power supply: 1kW (1000 watt) power supply (standard) - http://www.pcpower.com/power-supply/turbo-cool-1kw-sr.html (current price: $430)
Motherboard: TYAN Tempest i5000PW (S5382) - http://www.tyan.com/product_board_detail.aspx?pid=439 (current price: $500-600)
CPU: 2x Quad-core Intel Xeon E5345 (total of 8 physical cores, this is higher performance than an i7 with 4 physical cores) - http://ark.intel.com/Product.aspx?id=28032 (current price: $280+ each)
RAM: 12GB Kingston KVR 667 - http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/partsinfo.asp?root=&LinkBack=&ktcpartno=KVR667D2D4F5K2/4G ('http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configurator_new/partsinfo.asp?root=&LinkBack=&ktcpartno=KVR667D2D4F5K2/4G') (current price: $160/pair of 2GB sticks)
Video: 2x BFG 8800 GTX OC2, 768MB -- not in SLI mode, and I don't have the SLI adapter sorry (for multiboxing, you don't want SLI anyway) - http://www.bfgtech.com/bfgr88768gtxoc2e.aspx (current price: $390+ each)
Hard Drive: 150GB 10,000RPM SATA hard drive (Western Digital Raptor, WD1500ADFD) -- will be wiped clean before shipping (current price: $90)Buy a whole PC (with or without all parts) or buy individual parts, prices negotiable. Total cost if you bought the parts online would be roughly $3000 plus shipping.

I 5-box on one of these, usually 60FPS foreground and 30 background. In Dalaran atm i'm at 50 foreground and 30 background, but YMMV -- depending on the number of people around I drop to 15-20FPS at times.

like that mother board... you are running XP64 on it? Does XP recognize 2 CPUs like that?

This is a really nice set up btw.. I am looking into build a similar set up but will use 6 SSHDs (1tb HD for storage) instead of the raptors, also use dual i7 CPUs, a use 3 Video cards for 6 monitors and prolly get crazy on the amount RAM just cuz i can.

What do you think? You foresee any issues.

Just wondering if both of the dual cpu's have access to all the ram so you can store the whole wow folder if you get 24G ram.

What do you think? You foresee any issues. Sounds like it should work

Since I've been playing on Windows 7 I don't have a working ramdisk at the moment, so I can't test that even though I could try it with 24GB (even 32GB)
