I've got an EVGA GTX285 superclocked edition and I can tell you right now its sick! This card is a beast. As far as the chip ive never used it before but I do know pre i7 it was one of the best quad cores intel made.

Ditto. The card is awesome. It handles 5 clients with no fuss.

Just dont get a Gigabyte GTX 280 is all I can say. I bought one about six months ago and it has been nothing but trouble. Will be replacing it soon. Very soon.
Constant lockups. Random Graphics freeze. Annoying as hell. Making me look at some ATI products very closely. That said, even the 280 handles 5 clients with ease. So anything rated higher than the 280
will absolutely fly.

I have the Q9650 CPU...again it handles five clients with ease. I DO...DO set each instance of the game core affinity to all four cores though. It just
works better. A smoother performance.

I would highly recommend looking into some after market coolers for the CPU. The stock ones are rubbish and when your cpu is running under 100% load for longer periods of time it
may be worth the investment. A Thermalright True 120 is a good brand/product. If you are looking at overclocking at all, then aftermarket cooling is a must.

Anyhoo...

Substantial upgrade is subtantial  You will love it.

I have the Q9450 and the EVGA gtx280 (which runs just fine, no lockups, maybe the gigabyte version is the problem for momo) and I have 8 gig system ram - runs 5 clients just fine but I do have the backgrounders all turned to minimums.
I am definitely going to upgrade to an i7 setup before year end so I can turn up the view distance on the followers substantially. Right now when I'm flying them high above the ground I am flying by instruments only, since they can't see anything but grey fog. It's only an issue when they drop off follow and i don't notice for a while, or have somehow managed to survive an encounter with just my DK standing and can't rez anyone up.
