Grats!

I Wish there was another 5 boxer on Lightninghoof.

2 of the toons overgear the instance(tank in mostly BiS pre 3.1, and my main ele shaman in full t8 etc), one kinda does, she has few 25 man epics and t8 helm, other than that I think everyone has basic heroics/some 10 man gear.(at least on my team)
I have to say that the fights that we did so far are mostly about exececution and not really about gear level, Grob is a good example, althought i dont think he is as hard as people make him to be, took us maybe 5 or 6 pulls before the kill, and most of the wipes were due to us getting used to running out and in.

What Niley said. My druid is my main, and is about on level with naxx 25/uld 10, but the rest of my toons are basically just wearing heroic/badge gear, and they still have quite a few slots filled with blues. It's mostly about figuring out how to do a fight as opposed to having problems with gear I think. Having Niley's tank outgear the place certainly helps, but I feel that we could do the same with my paladin tanking, and all of his gear is straight from heroics/badges and even the AH.

As for grobbulus himself: Once we figured out that you barely have to move him (since we have no melee that have to get out of his dropped poison clouds) and you can just sit your guys in one place the entire fight and just run injected ones out and back, it was just about getting our timing with injections down (basically when someone got injected I would just face them towards a far wall and hit autorun. When it exploded, I'd run them back and repeat with the next injected). Where you see him dead is the entirety of where we moved him. Maybe 30 yards from his ramp.

updated with gluth kill!

ok we need some ideas for thaddius here, we didn't really had a chance to do a solid pull since servers went down not too long after our gluth kill.
How are people doing the jump on this guy, i think this is the only hold back, since we don't need buffs to kill him.

Congrats Niley!!

Glad you alliance guys are making progress too.

I made some progress myself yesterday by soloing Gluth for the first time 8)

As for Thaddius, I've never been able to do him solo - best I've done is when controlling 6 toons. Any more than that and the transition (jump) is too tough.

And I agree that most of the fights have to do with technical skill and set up much more than gear.

Grats on your naxx progression! grob is one of the harder fights in naxx because to run someone out, then back in as you have to run someone back out really slows the DPS down.

I've taken my 5boxing group and done everything but KT. KT is totally possible but a bunk 2nd healer wiped us a few times and discouraged the rest of the people helping.

I 5boxed my mixed group (Prot paladin, Disc priest, arcane mage, elemental shaman, moonkin) and had the help of a druid tank and a holy pali to seven man every boss up to gluth.

For Gluth I went in next day with my 5 plus a resto shaman, 2nd moonkin, holy pali, and another prot pali. so 9 people total including my 5. We did Gluth, thaddius, and Sapphiron.

Thaddius you can just cast slow fall on everyone or levitate if you have it. Spread your guys out so they won't hit each other with opposing debuffs. The enrage timer was a joke even without the buff, but that was becasue my group does really good dps, all of them above 3k, mage and shaman sometimes above 4k.

Just remember that the tank switch on stalagg and the other guy before Thaddius may mean you need to change your targetting to explicit for that fight.

i usually assist my prot pali and attack that target but i had to change it to /tar thaddius /tar stalagg which worked fine.

For sapphiron i had the resist sets crafted to ease healing on my guys. Getting behind an ice block wasn't difficult if you group up your guys, there is plenty of time. avoiding the blizzard is tough and really slows down DPS.

KT was not bad at all, it wasn't me "the 5boxer" that caused those wipes. just spread out for phase 2 and know that you will need to either switch windows quickly or be able to individually strafe a guy out of the void zone. Other than that it is essentially a tank and spank.

I also did vault of archavon and OS with my 5 and the feral druid/holy pali, was very easy.

Myself, and another boxer tried it last night, we got Noth down 9 manning it (I had pugged one of my mages earlier in the week and she was saved) and we also did first boss in spider wing with the help of another solo to make it an even 10. Both of us haven't done much in the way of boxed raid healing. Our tanks were fine and our dps was quite good actually, but all of our wipes were healing related. I need to work on my priest being able to heal multiple tanks easily. Im guessing i could use target for one tank and focus for the other? Or maybe Focus on the off tank while the other heal goes to the targettarget?

We might attempt some more tonight, 2 manning the Heigan dance maybe?

i need to make a macro that sequentially goes through each player and decurses, with 3 mages i could have one mage start with the tanks, one with the healers and one randomly doing it. not efficient, but easy to just mash a key....

I think we ended up just eating the curses that i couldnt get off. I tried to click as fast as i could, but i know i missed a few. WTB Decurse totem ;)

tank healing is a bit easier than raid decursing.

For raid healing, I just have two different keys (and macros) that are assigned to each tank and I change them for different tanks. For example, I have F11 and my main tank healing key on my priest. A normal press is greater heal, an ALT F11 press is power word: shield, ctrl F11 is a renew, and Shift is pain suppression.

I use F11, F10, F9, F8, and F7 to heal my "party". I rearrange them on my healers cast bar in the order that they appear on my "main's" screen and until the new jamba version comes out which will allow groups to be in the same order all the time, I just change it every time I login or the group order changes.

The pros to working in this way is that I can easily heal my whole team by using the unit frames on my main's screen and through modifier keys I can have 4 spells (or even more if I wanted). The cons are that I cannot heal the other group at all really.

To heal the second tank I have a macro setup to the F5 key which heals either the main tank or Offtank. F6 is my AOE heal key (prayer of healing).

I have no idea how to work in decursing unless I "play" the window of my decurser (either mage or druid) which leaves me no idea how I am going to dps and also tank. I think I need three of four arms to accomplish all this or a reworking of my entire system. :) Or can you have a conditional macro that says

/cast [target=raid1] decurse
/cast [target=raid2] decurse
/cast [target=raid3]decurse
etc etc?

I doubt that this is possible currently, but until then I end up playing my decurser's window to accomplish this, which ends up slowing down DPS moderately and makes me unable to (or poorly) tank at the same time.

Grats!

I Wish there was another 5 boxer on Lightninghoof.I'm working on it but my computer can't handle all 5 anymore. I need to upgrade so I'm down to two-boxing.

Noth's cure you can just heal thru it pretty much on 10 man, specially if you have shadow resist aura up. After it explodes jus CoH + healing stream totems + chain heal =)

How about raid decursing?
How about:

/targetraid
/cast Remove Curse
That should cycle through nearby raid members.

I think if you constantly change targets (spam), the server will eventually disconnect you. At least, that's been my experience.Interesting - this has never happened to me, and that's more or less how I (sloppily) do raid healing on my druid when I'm multiboxing.

I'm surprised by this as well, although I've not tried it to prove otherwise. People don't usually disconnect while tab targeting and I wouldn't think this would be any different? I just recall this macro from when Blizzard first removed the old functionality from Decursive and people (solo players, not multiboxers) were looking for alternative ways to spam decurse. "/targetraid" to cycle through one way and "/targetraid 1" to reverse the direction. For myself, though, I've always just manually decursed, even while multiboxing. It's just less complicated to simply click the people who need to be fixed up, and a whole lot more efficient. I'd hate to have to potentially spam 25 times to remove a curse from one guy! lol

Just wanted to give a slightly offtopic to the Original poster and say that my 5boxing group downed KT in Naxx 10 last night, it was a blast :) We tried OS 1 drake but it is a bit too much to micromanage for me at the moment, we'll try again with a different makeup or role allocation.

Like i said before, we dont have enough time to raid...last time we raided was about 3-4 weeks ago, unfortunately time constrains got to us.
This is our latest achievement :P Noth was the easiest boss in the instance so far, heigan was a bit harder.
http://img141.imageshack.us/img141/298/wowscrnshot062209055706.jpg

and then, we had accidental pull on this guy, and still one shotted him
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/7113/wowscrnshot062209061805.jpg

and on that note, this is more about single boxing, but I completed heroic glory on Niley and got a shmexy mount!! :P

edit. I got bored with my toons so I'm using wowme to model change into blood elfs.
