The best part is that I play on a PvE server, so his inclusion into PvP is entirely voluntary. If he does not like to be killed in PvP, don't fucking flag.

Totally agree.

I play on a PVE server as well, and it is so easy not to get killed by other people. Besides the PVP dailies (which I don't gank on, because its really not meant for PVP) or fishing in WG (but really, you're asking for it), if he's flagged then it must be because he WANTS to get attacked. Pretty simple.

And yes, PVP has nothing to do with this "fair" concept. The whole idea is to make it as unfair as possible to your advantage without bending or breaking any rules. Otherwise it would be illegal to attack someone else that was AFK, not at max health/mana, etc.

They were flagged. They got killed. The game is working as intended.

well; killing everyone once is fair game; killing people who attacked you first a second time (ie once more after they rez) is also fair I think; but more than that I think it's only for the most extreme cases (like if they corpse camped you in the past) - imo

Just read that story about the guy camping Menethil docks. Had to LOL, even though I initially grew up as alliance on a PvP server and always dreaded the boat ride between Menethil and Auberdine/Theramore. (Lots of people would actually camp out *on* the boats to gank alliance).

I always scoffed at how stupid it was that the alliance's main method of transportation from continent to continent all went through one town, the boats had no guards, and the guards on the docks were only L20 NPCs and a couple L35 guard NPCs, meanwhile the horde had L65 elite bruisers guarding the zeppelin towers.

Also, back then if you died on the boat and released, you'd popup alive, at the graveyard on the ORIGIN side, so you'd have to head back to the boat again. At least now, if you die on the boat, you just stay dead, and when you cross to the other continent you're alive again. You'll probably get ganked again, just stay dead til the boat docks then release and presto you're alive at the graveyard on shore.

I started out playing on this server. This guy was revered by everyone on the horde. I think there were people on the alliance that would have driven to his house to shoot him if they could get his address.
