i have been looking into buying a new computer cause i just started duelboxing and my clone is lagging bad in the bg's...i got a AMD Athelon 64 X2 Duel core 4200+ geforce 9800gt video card 4 gigs of ram(3 cause of windows xp)

m2n-mx se plus motherboard and 2 22" monitors...but thats obviously fast enough to run 2 accounts so its time to upgrade i guess...was thinking about going with either Item#:N82E16883229092 from newegg.com or I455-92401 from tigerdirect(that code starts with an i just to clarify) both are almost the same except one has nvidia9400gt 1gb other has 500gb nvidia gts 250...im not planning on runnin 5 accounts anytime soon just want to run a solid 2-3 accounts with no lag. any input you guys can throw my way would be appreciated

Everything else aside, the 250 is a more powerful gpu than the 9400gt. I wouldn't give the extra video RAM more weight than processing capacity.

You don't need to spend a THOUSAND dollars on an i7 computer just to dual-box.

First, have you turned down all the settings on all of your clients? Tried scaling the game resolutions down? If you do things right you can get more performance out of your machine without having to buy a new one.

The rest of your system is fine. I'd say your processor is holding you back.

Try this:

Wolfdale 3Ghz CPU + Motherboard Combo from Newegg - total = 269.98 ('%20http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails.aspx?ItemList=Combo.197499')

With that you get a solid processor, can upgrade to a quad-core later if you so wish, and you could re-use almost everything in your system. (Power supply/RAM may be an issue if it was a pre-built computer)
