View Full Version : New Dualboxer needs RAF Clarification: question on earning giftable levels

I've read/searched and I still can't get a clarification on this. I'm dualboxing only and using RAF. I've got a lvl25 team now (main and referee account). I created another team and grouped them (1 on my main referrer account and 1 on my referee account) and went questing but didn't see any RAF experience.

My question is this: Do I first have to get the first toon up to 60 (to be able to gift the 30 levels) before I can start another toon? EDIT: I realize I only have 29 giftable levels to give my main but shouldn't I benefit from 300% xp on multiple toons on the RAF account or is it only the 1st toon?

thx in advance,

PS: Great forum you have here, its helped immensely with my setup/macros etc.

For every two levels that you RAF account has they can grant your main account 1 level. Forexample, if your RAF account is level 60 they can grant your main account from 1 to 30. And you can not grant levels once your toon hits 60. Thats about as basic as I can get it. There is a ton of information about this on the forums and on the web in general.

Thank you but my question is specific towards the number of toons I have on the RAF account. I should edit the title of the post to make my question clearer. Lets say I get my first team up to lvl 60 and I use the giftable levels...ok done but I still have ..oh I don't know .. another 60 days left on the RAF time period. If I create another lvl 1 toon to group with another level 1 toon on my main account will they continue to gain 300% xp? or did that xp bonus only apply to the first toon created?

I'm asking because I wanted to try another team out (lvl1 toon on raf/ lvl 1 toon on main) while I still have my other lvl25 RAF toon and they weren't seeing RAF 300% xp bonus. This led me to question whether the whole RAF bonus's only apply to the FIRST toon created on the RAF account (aside from the giftable levels of course).

Yes RAF last 90 days and you can level as many teams as possable during that time period with the exp boast.

for the 300% xp to take effect, your team (in your case, toonA from the vet/referrer account and toonB from the raf/referee account) must be within range of each other when killing mobs and must be partied or in the case of handing in quests, both toons must be present upon turn-in.

you don't have to get the first toon in the referee account to 60 to be able to grant a level. a referee toon can grant the level or levels that it has gained if the receiver is not equal to or higher than their own level or past 60.

might i refer u to the RAF ultimate FAQ:

Thank you all for the clarification.. What I did learn the hard way is that I shouldn't create a 2nd team until I've gotten the FIRST toon up to a decent level. In testing this out, my 2nd team's toon is now level 3 with essentially one giftable level which will wasted giving it to a lower level toon. Luckily my short term goals on this account are to get numerous toons up to 30 so at least I can enjoy these toons with a mount and not have to suffer over all the questing again.

My advice to you on gifting levels is level one set of toons to 60 then level another set to 30 and then grant that toon to 60.

My advice to you on gifting levels is level one set of toons to 60 then level another set to 30 and then grant that toon to 60.considering all RAF accounts are empty, method B worked out better for me in terms of "time spent boosting" and "resulting average level of all boosted toons":
method A incorporated boosting 4 teams of level 60s and 4 teams of level 31's while method B - boosted 6 teams of 60s with...time difference on a 10h average /played time of 1-60 was 4 hours total.

Thanks to all .. I've had alot fun so far.. I've gotten my first shaman/hunter team to lvl 60 and granted my lvl20 lock up to lvl50. I'm a casual player for the most part so it took 3 days played. I'm a new player to WoW and I've only been playing for 2 months so I'm in no rush to get to 80 yet cause I want to try out all the classes. This RAF is a godsend considering it took me over 7 days played to get my Druid to 61. Newest teams I'm trying: Rogue/pally and warrior/priest. Sadly, the addiction is grabbing me because I'm looking for ways to run 5 man with some character shuffling..its all about the benjamins.

Edit: I used the 1-60 horde raf guide and it worked really well for me. I can't give enough kudos to Keyclone and Jamba.
