How many characters and which level are needed to kill Thrym (when not riding the other giant obviously; as that can be done solo by quest design) ?
Just for grins I tried with my team at 76 and failed (ran oom on healer) - I think it should be doable at 80 but not sure - anyone tried ?

well, i was going to let him live, but then i remembered that one time when one guy dropped follow on his road and was killed by him, so i owed him one.
I'm just at 80 for 2 weeks and not up to heroics yet, plus i didn't think the fight was gonna be much challenge so i didn't use my proper "boss" opening sequence and on guy was lined up pointed the wrong direction and wasn't able to fire half the time. So i'd say 4 level 80's can take him with hardly any challenge.

He is a joke to even a poorly geared 5 man team.

I nearly solo'd him a while ago with naxx25 gear on my main enhance shaman. He can't be all that tough for most boxing teams, just he does hit fairly hard.

cool, thanks, nice kill aboron. I'll try him again at 77 to see (and also conserving healing mana and putting totems down properly etc...)

I used him as target dummy/rotation testing from lvl 76 to lvl 78. Then he became so easy that it was not worth the effort.
If you are pre lvl 80 he is really good to test tanking rotations without much risk. Helps specially in testing the damage mitigation in your tank rotations because target dummies that live in cities don't try to punch you.
Other than that, he is just a funny giant punchsac.

I went back and killed him with my dk at 78, healer at 77 and dps at 76 - no problems at all!
edit: before "screenshot or it didn't happen" :

Solo'd him pretty easy on my prot pala, have to watch hp a bit (and hordes/allies if you are on pvp) but he hits for nothing

He wasnt too tough. My druids all went oom about 2/3 of the way through, but my paladin just sat there like a rock and seal of light and judgement of light and divine plea kept him full hp and full mana till he finaly died of old age. Hes soloable with a prot pally and prolly other classes. It will just take all day.

Surprised me that my druids actually broke 2k DPS. Guess most things die so fast I never get the chance to see them focus long enough to get a decent reading. ;)
