VH - Bugged Portal Keeper/Guardian

I have been running VH and quite often one of the Guardians falls through the "earth". This leaves the portal open and gets pretty annoying. It's always the portal in front of Lavanthor.

Anyone have a trick to get rid of this? Do you leave the zone? Do you just suck it up? Most of the time I suck it up, but would rather not have to deal with it. I tried the crystals and they didn't do anything. I can target it but it just evades everything.

I've had this happen twice now, one time it fixed itself after about 20 seconds, the other it continually spawned adds through the Void boss (oh yeah, big wipe there).

The WoW forums seem to indicate that if you LoS the Portal Keeper, he tries to follow you and sometimes pops back up through the floor.

got the same problem today... and wiped because I got overwhelmed (had 2 portals at once)... the worst part is all the adds give you 0 xp so you kill and kill and kill and get nothing out of it; until you get overrun/oom/...

There's switches along the walls that should kill every mob in the room. Do those work against it?

The LOS method works. It happened to me last night. I just moved to entrance (LOSing him) and he appeared.

had it happen to me twice so far while farming that instance daily for the legplates. I was able to clear the instance anyway although it's a pain in the ass. Didn't know about the LoS trick but I made a GM ticket and never heard anything about it. Thank god I have the legplates now (11 tries) and don't need to go back there anymore :)

It's a shame that the switches don't work, because the line of sight method only works when you already have some threat on the guardian and sometimes it just falls through the floor before you can even get to it.

This happened to me in two consecutive runs, then it stopped happening. I figured they'd fixed it, but guess I just got lucky! VH is like that I guess, you can either get a bugged mob ... or you can get Ichoron! Either way, to me at least, it's just time to wipe and come back tomorrow.

Off topic. When you get Ichoron, just use the wall switches to make it easy. Park your ranged guys in a corner, put your back to a switch while tanking in the middle of the room, and when he explodes, he will launch you over to it. Give the spawns just a few seconds to all appear, then hit the switch. There's 3 on the bottom floor alone (down to the left, straight ahead, and down to the right). Worst case, there's one just up the stairs from Lavanthor if you need a 4th. I actually got the Ichoron "Drought" achievement by doing that. Only took 3 switches before he was done exploding on me.

Never encountered the issue of the guardian falling through the floor though (yet).

Thanks for the tip! I will try the LOS method next time it happens. However, it often happens when I don't have any aggro so we'll see what happens.

As for Ichoron, I haven't been able to down her yet. Been very close, but still working through the explosions knocking my guys all over. My toons often end up all over the place even when I try to keep them near the wall as in Hachoo's video. I think I will get it next 1-2 attempts, just sucks that I have to keep clearing the instance to try it.

Ichoron and Xevozz still give me the most trouble.
