Hello!

I use a program D2Window to start multiple windows of diablo 2. I would like to multibox them, since i have several CD Keys. Since diablo2 is such an old game, i can't find any info on how to set stuff up for it.

Could someone please link me to a guide on how to setup keyclone/hotkeynet or something for diablo 2? Does keyclone even work with diablo 2? Has anyone got diablo 2 multiboxing to work successfully?

thank you

if i remember correctly D2 doesn't have a follow command so your kind of out of luck there

Wonder what D3 will be like.

I absolutely loved D2 and I nearly cried (exaggerating here for effect :P) when they released 1.02? Cant remember the patch number but it effectivley killed the game for me. Wondering what D3 will be like. Whether or not its boxable or not and whether or not I'll need to box to enjoy it. At the moment I'm not sure whether its wow or boxing that I like.

Anyway back on topic yeah there's no macros, that doesn't mean you can't box it just means it will be a bit harder for you. I'm no help to you sorry :|

edit: I'm rambling a lot this morning, only got three hours of sleep last night

1.03 was the patch that fixed the extremely OP necro corpse explosion IIRC - if you had a necro you would have cried - but boy was it totally OP :)

1.10 killed it for me. That is when they deleted all the awesome ITH items and the wrings. But, they really boosted necromancer minions since then. I remember playing 1.11 last year and soloing Hell as a minionmancer with ease!

I 'sort of" multi-boxed D-2 for years. You can't really multi-box in a true sense, like in WOW, as there is no follow command.

I mostly just boxed to boost the experience for whatever toon I was playing. Since I played hardcore, it seemed that I was always leveling, :P plus that let me keep a loot toon in the game for those occasional lag spike deaths. I haven't played D-2 in a couple of years, but the game used to reward you with far more experience per kill (and the monsters were much tougher) when more people were in the game, so I would just stuff a game full to the eight character limit. I used hardware boxing (seperate computers) as I didn't trust any add-on software to not get my accounts banned.

Besides my prime toon getting more experience per kill, the other useage for multi-boxing for me was boosting. I don't know whether this still works, but I'd clear an area, set a safe portal for the new toons, bring them down and park them close but safe, then kill the main dude that promoted them into the next area. After doing this for all five areas in all three dificulty levels, I would open a hell difficulty cow portal clear a cornerin the cow level, and then bring the little toons down. My 99 level amazon could clear the whole cow level in less than five minutes, which would often result in a quick ten levels for each parked toon. A few dozen runs later, the parked toons would be up to level 75 or so, at which point I would equip them, and they would become playable, with my 99 Zon parked as corpse loot protection only.

With decent gear, a solo character is so powerful that there was really no need to a coordinated team, such as we build in WOW. I had a lot of fun with D-2 (and Diablo classic), but I could never go back. After playing WOW, D-2's player interface is just so "Dark Ages"! :D

Diablo II is without doubt the BEST.....GAME.....EVER.....MADE

I would still be playing it today if it wasn't for all the duping going on and the TPPK exploit which makes hardcore play socially almost impossible.
