View Full Version : Lag after a PiP switch

I have been running Keyclone fine since 1.8k but since downloading the 1.9 whenever I do a PiP switch to bring one of my slaves into focus to loot or whatever, the whole game lags out. I have tried running the Slaves at 20maxfps still once I switch screens lag sets in. I have tried running every region at min and still once I swich PiP lag hits.
I am useing Windows Vista on a dell xps m1530. I have not had any lag running 4 accounts at max game settings untill 1.9 version of keyclone. And I run Keyclone on admin setting.
I am open to any suggestions of what I can do to switch the PiP and not have the game totally lag out.
I've had similar problems when switching from my main full size window on screen 1 to any of my slaves on screen 2. Once I switch my frame rates drop to like 2fps on all my wows. But, if I minimize all my windows with WIN+M and restore them with SHIFT+WIN+M the frame rates are restored. Odd, but it works for me.
I'm running an i7 Quad Core 920, with Vista 64, with 12 Gigs of RAM and a GTX 275 EVGA Card with 860MB of RAM. I'm using Keyclone 1.9g.
Any tweaks to stop this from happening would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Ragewolf for bringing this up.

I have tried your suggestion of win+m to drop all the screens then shift+win+m to bring them back up. But still nothing but lag. At least Keyclone is still working I just cant switch screens or the lag makes wow un-playable.
Thanks for the suggestion though :) . I am open to any other advice on what might be causeing this problem.

Was there ever resolution to this problem?
I have this EXACT same problem and the shift+win+m solution works, but is not really viable if you want to switch between characters a lot

Are both monitors on the same video card?
Or is one monitor plugged into card A and the other into Card B?

I often had this problem when switching windws, but problem almost disappeared when setting shadow quality really low in WoW. It still happens on rare occasions however, but now I fix can this by switching windows an extra time.

I think the problem is that Its thinking the forground is still background, takes a bit for everything to figure out that the old background is now forground.
Get IsBoxer and tile at the same resolution no lag (if yur system can do it).
Or do what I do, play in full screen and alttab ..... no lag.

Oh wow I didn't know anyone else had this problem (I had problems with this since I started)
When all of my windows are the same size, they switch without problem. When I have 2 across the top of my screen and 3 across the bottom (the two top are one size and the three bottom are another), the two top will switch with no problem but if I try to bring in the bottom one I get 1-4 seconds of lag as the two windows need to switch resolution.

That is completely normal and the 'old' window swap behavior we all had with Keyclone back in the day. People in this
thread, I believe, are speaking of matching resolution swap lag... as if, earlier described in this thread, the newly swapped
foreground window thinks it is still in the background for a few seconds therefore capping performance at whatever the
user has set background FPS to inside of ISBoxer.
