Radeon / dual monitor issue

I just upgraded my Nvidia 8800GT 512mb for a Radeon HD4850 1gb. Before i changed, I was running 2 instances of wow over 2 monitors but with the new card i cant seem to get a signal from the slave monitor.

Ive googled my problem to find threads with similar / identical problems yet no fixes.

I wondered if anyone here possibly had the same prolem with a reliable solution? Thanks all.

I have a 4850 in a dual monitor set up with no issues.

First thing I would try is swapping video connections - does Monitor A still work? does monitor B work now? - This could show bad monitor/cable or bad port on card, or at least point you to the direction to move.

Also check the widows settings for the monitor.

May I ask what monitors you are using? VGA, DVI? HDMI?

It seems that the card just doesnt read DVI signals. Which is stupid considering it only has 2 DVI ports and an HDMI socket. I am using an HDMI to DVI converter to a 28 inch HD monitor, and a DVI 19 inch.
the 19 inch only works in safe mode, when the ATI drivers are loaded it reports no signal and powers down. If i connect the 28 inch through a VGA to DVI converter, that works too. Just nothing out of the straight DVI connection.
