View Full Version : Chatting and Keyclone...

I'm fairly new to dual boxing (2 lvl 32 locks). One of my biggest issues is chatting while grouping. Having to hit the pause key on keyclone makes it tough to communicate. I end up having delayed responses or forget to turn off the pause and my 2nd Char ends up standing their watching.
Any tips on how to be able to party or /say chat better using keyclone or do I just need to get used to pausing to chat?

I'd like to know if there is an easier way to do this as well. I all too frequently forget to turn pause on or off, only too look like an idiot by spamming or getting myself killed while the 4 clones watch from a safe distance.
Also, I've been noticing that sometimes when I press pause it will show that it is on, but it doesn't actually work, which means on occasion I'll have to hit it twice. It's not that big of an issue but I was wondering if anyone else was getting the same issue or if my keyboard is just acting up.

Sorry...didn't see this one before posting:

Several good ideas, but the general concensus is to pause to chat.

haha, yeah I end up doing that by accident as I'm too slow with the pause and chat so far. I would like to be able to chat with people though. Being new to the server I'd like to find some cool people to group with on the grind up since I am only running 2 toons.

Disable the chat options for the bots. Make enter and "/" not do anything on the other installations of WoW, also I'd suggest rebinding the Escape, movement, and other /follow-breaking keys on the alts. I have the arrow keys for movement on the alts, the / numpad key is main menu, and Ctrl + / numpad key open the chat window.
I changed my pause key to "\" which sits directly above my enter key. So I have gotten into the habit of hitting "\<enter>blah blah blah<enter>\" Making it that close to the enter key makes it easier to remember to do.

The one problem with that is if a GM wants you to talk to them on your other minions to make sure you're not botting, you've disabled the ability to speak :) Might look bad, hehe.

I use a whitelist for all my keybinds. I mostly use numbers, F-numbers, and the numpad. This makes it easy to type in chat and not have any of the clones hit the alpha keys.
