Cartographer has a nasty bug which disables my right click ability in instances. Looking for suggestions on how to fix this or a good Maps add-on.

What is Cryptographer and what does it do? I cannot find this addon on my sites to recommend a replacement. I'm assuming it's for WoW since Tight recommended Carbonite? Cryptographer sounds like...Cartographer?

Carbonite has a super sweet map module built into it...but that's just it...it's built in and you can't get it separate. You have to deal with all the bloated crap that Carbonite comes with, which is unfortunate.

Cartographer is still one of the best addons i know. but maybe you can try the 3.0 version which is more in a google maps style like carbonite but not with that many features (which i don't like ;) ).
You can find it here: http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/cartographer3.aspx

Well my first suggestion would be to clear out all Cartographer files in your WoW directory [they're hidden in multiple places] and do a super clean brand new install of Cartographer. If you've got any Gathering files [mining nodes/herb nodes/etc] you can back those up if you'd like. Then get the newest up-to-date version from Curse ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/cartographer.aspx'). Do a 'manual' install regardless of whether you've got some automatic installer or not. Try running Cartographer all by itself after the brand new install and see if you still get that error. If not....enable a few addons at a time and continue testing. Sometimes an addon will throw out a false error due to another addon conflicting.

If that doesn't happen to work and it's still broken even when it's all by itself....then you've got the following choices:

1 - Suck it up and use the default Blizzard UI map until a newer, more updated, and working [for you] version comes out. :)
2 - Use bloated Carbonite for it's super awesome elite map addon.
3 - Browse at your leisure for a new map addon here at Curse ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/categories/map-minimap.aspx').

If you're just looking for instance loot and other loot....you could always try out Atlas ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/atlasloot-enhanced.aspx').

I know, myself, that I used to use 50,000 addons during the BC era....yes....fifty thousand [~300MB in the Interface folder]. :) I'd get retarded errors all the time when a little Blizzard patch update came along....and of course everything was broken on big patch days. Recently, I went through my list of addons and thought, "do I really need this or can I honestly play the game without it?" Now my errors have drastically decreased because there are so few addons that could conflict with each other.

Mapster ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/mapster.aspx')

During some patch i had problems with Cartographer and tried out Mapster and didn't bother switching back...

Hmm, maybe this is what has been messing with my right click/drop down menus in instances too...
I've been getting around it with /commands and in the case of selecting instances in atlas I can get them with very fast and precise clicking if i try hard enough.

right-click problem with Cartographer is a known bug ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/cartographer.aspx#481071') . hopefully for the OP, it gets fixed soon.

Also switched to mapster a while back and have been happy with it.
