I've been playing this game 2-3 years. Multiple 70's, then multipe 80's and I've never, ever, ever had an epic flying mount on any of them.

That 5k gold has always been a bit too far. I'd get to about 2k, then see an epic shiny on the AH, or spend money gearing my paladin up for heroics etc.

I don't tend to get a lot of multiboxing time - 3 days a week playing, a lot of that on raids or guild heroic runs, so I would only run about 6 dailies.

I decided it was time to make some serious money with my alchemy, so I switched to elixir master and so in the past couple of weeks have been making
and selling flasks galore, And last night I finally got Swift flight form on my druid.

I always knew having an epic mount would make gathering easier but it's like my money making is now on steroids. I suspect my other 80's wil
be getting epic flying mounts a heck of a lot quicker now.

Grats! :)

I only have epic on one of my characters, my old rogue main, who of course can't use it as she's only 71. :)

I ground out that one taking over the market on two cuts of gems in BC, along with some serious ore grinding sessions and such. Ugh. I have 4 characters that are going to need it eventually, so I'm stockpiling mats in my bank.

Epic flying does make a huge difference, and I was very surprised (and bummed) they did'nt lower the cost in Wrath. :(

I kind of gambled on the prospect of them lowering the cost in WotLk too (and lost).

I also worked on the principle that you can't miss what you've never had. ( and it worked, but I've blown that).
It always seemed unachievable, but after actually putting focus on it I achieved it really quickly.

I was actually very pissed when i first found out in lich not only is it still a retarded 5k gold but on top of that I have to pay an additional 1000g to use the friggen epic flyer I already bought and paid for in BC... Blizzard really boned us with these mount prices.

I ended up having it on just one of my main level 70 characters back in the day (Level 70 Human Mage) but never on any of my other chars. Finally when I started boxing I ended up getting Epic Flight for my 5 box Horde Team all with Bronze Drakes from the timed COT runs.

I ended up getting my 25,000g mostly from JC and dailies. I ended up getting 4 of my chars to 375 JC (Costed around 1200-1500g each) but I would farm the JC dailes and get 4 Dragon's eye a day and would sell them everyday (At the time they were worth like 400g) Pretty easy and fast turn around when you do the math. Only took me a couple weeks of barely any farming to get mine.

I'm doing pretty good business right now on BC disenchanting mats - I'm running BC dungeons, and DE-ing piles of gear, it's been good cash.

I'm not worried about epic flying, normal flying will be fine, if a bit painful - I already level 3 through Northrend on slowpoke gryphons, I'll do it again.

Right now my money and mats are being stockpiled for gear, gems, and enchants. When my 4 can start running instances/heroics in Northrend, I'll start saving for epic flying.

I have the same problem (minus the paladin). I'll get there eventually I suppose.
