View Full Version : Stopping Follow In a macro/cast sequence

The only problem is that I need to press the down arrow to stop the druid from following before I can use this dps cycle, because if I move on my hunter the druid will follow and automatically stop casting any spell

Also, sometimes the druid ends up backwards away from the target when I do this, rendering him useless

Any suggestions/fixes for this problem?

Thanks a ton

I'd love to hear a solution to this as well ... the only thing I can think of would be to send a movement key to the clone (ie. down-arrow or "s") before the dps key-bind was sent - but that's sending 2 keys with 1 key press (unless you pressed the dps key twice and had a rotation setup) and I think that's not allowed ... anyone care to comment?

Pretty much this. Just tap a movement key to break follow before starting your DPS rotation. I either have my alts spread out, or I just tap the down arrow, and then start the fight.

Nothing really fancy. I wouldn't overthink this one.

how does he turn around by just pushing the down arrow key?

there isnt a stop follow command though so movement is the only way and i wouldnt suggest binding a movement onto the same key as your dps macro.

what i did was just get em where i wanted them then hit down and have at it its not often that a mob will run all the way behind your ranged dps.

When I run prot pal + 4 shamans I move to where I want them to stop and tap the left or right turn key. I trust you have turn left/right bound to all ur slaves?

If you do this the slaves will break follow and they won't move at all from their current spot. Just tapping the key won't rotate them enough to worry about shooting angles either.

I use the keep follow addon, which helps follow from breaking, but also has a /keepfollow stop command, that can be put on the non-leader toons' macros ...

Casting a channeling spell or using a chanelling item will break follow. Just add an item like this http://www.wowhead.com/?item=41367 to the start of your dps cycle.
