Hello all,

First off I would like to say that I appreciate the support and people that are on this site. This literally has been the best source for answers, learning material, as well as people I have come across on the interwebs with a warcraft audience.

Rob - very much appreciate all the info you have helped me with, and the idea that you have created to bring much pleasure to the game.

Question - I think this may be more of a learning curve on my part .. but here it goes. SO I am running 4 shammy's (obviously from the title) but I am running into the issue of when my main is creamated I try to control the other 3 and well .... I literally just fall apart.

I have watched vyndree's (spelling) video thousands of times and have all the slaves mapped for movement on the arrow keys, so when the main dies I fast swap to the other toons but there so out of order for movement and I cannot figure out why. I have also tried the leaderless main listed here and that doesnt let me tab target with slaves or use the macro's that I have set up for the main. Is this maybe a hardware issue? Running wow on 2 3 gig boxes, stuffed full of ram, 2 accounts on a 24" and 2 on a 17" monitor, keyclone on bothe boxxes, jamba.

I guess what I am wondering, how do other's react when the leader dies and is it more or less the same flow and rythm that your main has?

Any information is GREATLY appreciated, if it were more easy I do have vent maybe set up a time to talk shop?

Anyways thanks peoples

FTL Setup ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=11459')

If you're using Keyclone, that's the link on the leaderless setup. Set that up with the hotkeys, and set up the macros, and you're set for that part. Now, here's probably the part you're having issues with, because I had the same thing when I went to 2 rigs. Go get Synergy ('http://synergy2.sourceforge.net/') and follow the directions on their site to set up your mouse/key broadcasting (it lets you use one mouse/key for any number of computers). When your main dies, you have to make sure and mouse your main mouse over to the window you want to control. I'm not sure how far you got, but if you let me know some more information, I may be able to help you further.

Good luck :)

So I did get synergy working, watched a few video's on utube for the settings and configuration. I hit the test button and can see that it shows both my comps connected and working (in the notepad after you hit the "test" button), but when I move the mouse it doesn't bounce to the second machine.

I have tried doing right/left and still the mouse stays on my main box's monitor and not the slaves monitor. I got a bit frustrated, I was testing this while in game and ended becoming a camp spot for some dk's pleasure.

I will work on it again tonight, curious for any tips or tricks that I may be missing?

I have synergy and I struggled a bit to get it working. I just kept on playing around with settings until it worked so not a lot I can say that you haven't already seen in utube videos. One thing that was the break through for me was to switch server/client around between the machines and then it finally worked correctly.

K so after fiddling with the settings i was able to get the mouse to roll to the correct screens, now comes the hard part. How the hell do I get it back to the original monitor after I get control again? IT goes to the slaves monitor and then gets locked over there?

any advice?

Finally got synergy to work, now I am facing the worlthless pointer in the center of the screen issue. Synergy got me pretty flustered this weekend in bg's, I may just scrap it and try something else.

I do not have control over the slaves that I was hoping for, but then again I am still on the learning curve. But when the main dies and I swap over to a slave I am having issues with the other slaves attacking/following and general movement like the main did.

I am still data gathering on other set ups.

Not much to add - Try Input Director (link at the top of the software forum) instead of synergy if you're only using synergy for mouse-sharing.

Other than that, it's pretty much just a process of figuring out what works best to switch on the fly for you. I personally use a /assist and /follow macro(s) that are setup to follow/assist my toons in a specific order, so if my main dies, I swap to toon#2 in the list and keep on fighting. Most of the kinks I ran into had to do with my slaves still trying to use my mains target, or to follow the dead toon etc. Once I had those macro issues sorted out things fell into place pretty nicely.

Yeah what you have described is the learning curve that I am going through, having issues swapping to slave and targeting things cause my main is still trying to run the show. Searching forums and getting tips and the like is really trial and error.

I think i was one of those people that said " oh yeah multiboxing is easy as hell lemme try that" ... had the idiot hammer smack my hands and I like the challenge. When people ask me if it is hard to do, I simply tell em .. good luck with that. I seriously am amazed at the work and time that goes into this art.

Multiboxers on all levels went way up in my respect table after dabbling into this.

Hats off to all

Focusless, targetless, 'leaderless' setup ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&threadID=11459') helped me out a lot. hope it helps you too :)

I tried to the FTL setup, and it did work for a bit, but i get lost on the "attacking" macros (there are literally tons of posts on what to use) and the slaves were not targetting correctly so I went back to the focus manifesto and set everything up exactly like the example.

But for some reason with the macro for jambo (from FTL) to do the follow thing, no matter what macro is setup (exaple - focus manifesto)jamba is having all the toons trying to follow slave 3 when I actually have the leader targeted?? I do not have the auto follow ticked in jamba, Will remove jamba and re-add tonight.

After realizing some very simple things that I completey failed on (arrows keys for slave movement.. not abusing the "do not pass" function) I am aaaaalllmost (<-- see that stretch there) thrilled like a school girl about my group. Need to learn to protect the leader a bit more, finally found the transition to slaves far easier than before. My gear absolutely sucks, not that there is anything truly nice low level anyways.

I have been testing out my noob skills in the AB, WSG bg's, and I find that with the leader sticking his big head out there (and everyone have BOA gear and being 6 levels higher than me).. well he gets nuked alot. Keyclone is hooking me up with a stack function hopefully to help resolve this and the learning curve.

Gah .. apologize for long posts .. jsut wanted to share my exp. and question the FTL with jamba issue
