Howdy all,
Just have a question, I run a 4 man shaman team and I have a g15 keyboard, I've been trying to figure out a use for my G1 - G6 keys, the programmable keys. What do you se the keys for?

Hey there Treesy,
I have the following:
I have this with my 1 priest 4 mages. I think i use my keyboard the most for this setup:

My shamans:

I like rebuffing watershield and flametongue weapon with those 2 keys. I also have totems there but i prefer pressing key 7, since i have my totem macro on 7.
Kind regards,
Steven from WoWMultiVids.com

They're really handy if you've run out of easily accessible keybindings :)
I have mine mapped to all sorts of strange CTRL+ALT combinations that I would never actually type manually.
In short, you'll find a use for them when you need to!
note that when you do decide to use them you have to enable the use persistent profile option in the profiler settings else it wont work. its a checkbox in
settings>profiler>profile tab
oh and i use mine for mostly out of combat things as well cause theyre kinda far away in the excitement of a boss battle...

My g1-g5 throw lesser healing waves on each shaman.

I have big hands so my pinky can extend over the G6, g9, g12 keys which I usually use for things I want on round robin. and the other keys I use for my healer to target specific party members.

G12 is just a keybind I'll likely never accidently press, which is tied to my Jamba invite macro, on the initial leader toon for each team.
I've been using G13, G14, G15, G16 and G17 for PiP swaps.
G18 is a jamba hotkey to resume follow of the current master (active window is Party Leader and Jamba Master).
I like to manually break and start follow, so do not use strobe follow.
Was thinking of doing some formations on G-keys, mainly spread out type thing.

my 1st gen g15's key combinations are weird (like Otlecs :P). shown below, along with their corresponding keybinds in bullet point:
G1-6: ctrl + numpad 4 thru 9
"lesser healing waves on self" per toon from g1 to g5 (kinda like pinotnoir) and g6 as a "/target nexttoon /cast Chain Heal" macro (like an ohnoes! button or to chain heal when in a star formation for show)G7-12: alt + numpad 4 thru 9
"healing waves on self" per toon from g7 to g11 and g12 as a "/target currentmain /cast lesser healing wave" (all slaves cast a small heal current main at the same time) G13-18: ctrl + alt + numpad 4 thru 9
g13 pve totems g14 pvp totems g15 stoneclaw stagger
g16 fire ele (AT ONCE!!)
g17 earth ele stagger g18 is a macro "/target currentmain /cast healing wave" (another zomgwtfbbq button - all slaves cast a big heal on current main at the same time)my most used buttons are g6, g12 and g13.
...and the above's just mode 1. i haven't found a use for modes 2 and 3 yet!

I have a G11 with 18 G keys.
All my healing macros (one for each toon as well as two different AOE heals), totem macros, sheep, fear, AOE, shackle, earth shock, oh shit key. I still have room, but I have been lazy. I will likely put in the more situation specific spells at some point.
However, I find that it's not very ergonomic for me to use them for healing. I may change my healing keys to make it easier, especially since I don't really need the majority of the current keybindings on my keyboard anyway.

To hijack the thread slightly.
Any pointers on drivers and software for a G15 now that I've moved to Windows 7 RC1?
Similar question for a wireless logitch gaming mouse I have, think it's a VX revolution.
Just use Vista drivers and pray?
About the G15, it's not so much about "drivers" as the Logitech gamepanel software and keyboard profiler. When I installed Windows 7 RC1 I couldn't install the Logitech software, so I just copied the software from a previous XP installation and it works just fine. I don't think there's really any difference, their installer just detects the OS and whines at you if it doesn't think you have a supported one. I'd assume the same thing as far as your mouse

I just used the Vista64 software on my Windows 7 install and they worked fine.

Bleh I was looking around for the apps and settings to just move them from the old system to the new, since my two old IDE drives are now just data backup to my SATA drive (though cripes why bother, the new drive is 1 friggin TB compared to the 2x160 GB, you can't even buy small drives anymore).
Ended up having to force compatibility, think it was the 64 bit vista, mighta been the 64 bit XP, compatibility mode forced XP SP2. Was downloading and trying too many different permutations.
Main reason I was fighting with it was to get G15 showing vent data again, I'm terrible at voice recognition.
Of course vent is almost completely douched by Windows 7, that's a whole new headache. Thought I had the old copy running fine, then it stopped responding, fiddling with new installs, then my sound went out.
And I have a raid tomorrow night with a new group. Fun.
