Howdy, I've read several posts in our forums here, as well as the "visual" guide at http://www.twentytotems.com/2007/11/stackable-totems-guide.html referring to which shaman totems stack in a group.

I am considering running my 80 DK as lead, and the typical 3-4 elemental shammies (I may run up a mage, unknown spec, at the same time for "foods, ports, INT buff" etc.; I have no idea which spec would work best with Elem, btw  )

Trying to figure out which current totems stack, I think there have been some changes, and just wanted to get the latest info. This is what happens when a new multi-boxer decides to add two new classes (shamana and mage) that I really haven't played before . . .

Once I find out what stacks, I'll get a priority order set up to cast for dropping totems - goal like so many folks is to be able to RAF 3 new accts up to 60, multiple groups of casters, during the RAF period.

Thanks,

2112

healing stream
cleansing
tremor
earthbind
grounding
magma
searing
fire nova
sentry

only totems that in some way will give you more than one buff/debuff

so in basic 4 shaman group You will see

Fire: 1 ToW, 3 Searing (magma for aoe)
Air: WoA, WIndfury, Nature, Grounding
Water: 3xhealing stream, 1x mana spring
Earth: Imp Stoneskin, Imp SoE, Tremorx2

of course those might change depending on the boss.

Thanks much, I see some situational ones (resistance totems, casting dps or tank pets, casting the 5 minute "mana renew" of Mana Tide, etc.)

I'll get a good rotation worked up for a DK leader (FTL, etc.) once I actually start playing with these a bit. May be a bit too tempting to add a mage for INT and foods so it may be 3 elem shammies, to start with. I plan to end up with 5 of most things, when done, and a few accessory folks (rogue to pick locks, etc.) that will probably be dragged along to 80, later.

Appreciate the quick help!

There you go ;) I don't plan much in the PvP realm, myself, but I can see where they would come in handy at times . . .

he was kidding....Yeah, I should've made my reply more obvious, but I did get the humor. The tongue sticking out was a big "clew" <smiles> even if my only experience was reading up on totems . . .

That being said, I do understand why some of them were adjusted to not stack, once they started seeing veritable armies of shammies running instances :)

I know it's been discussed a few times, but I didn't see a final, authoritative answer...

Is it still possible to stagger tremor and cleansing totems to interleave their effects?

Hey there :)

I thought i'd put down my totem macro's here. I play 5 shamans so you should combine them for your own.

Since the poison and disease cleansing totems have now been combined into a single totem, I seriously doubt that's really your current totem macro....

If it is, you need to update it because your castsequences will stall at the unknown totem.

I've been looking, but haven't found a definitive answer either. However, I have seen comments from others that have tried with multiple tremors totems that say they "feel" that the fears are getting removed much faster with staggered drops. Could just be that they got lucky on the timing, so I have trouble considering that definitive. Strong evidence, at best.

One test scenario might be staggered cleansing totems and a rogue constantly applying poison affects to you. If it always gets removed in about 1 second, then that's about as definitive as you can get, at least for cleansing. Tremor can follow the same scenario with Priest/Lock/Warrior fears, but need to be cautious of diminishing returns (max 3 fears every 30s, last one only lasting a couple seconds anyways).

Alas, I only have one shaman, so I can't just set up these test scenarios without enlisting more help.

It looks like all-in-one now as Cleansing Totem (http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=8170) aye? Thanks for all the thoughts here. I also plan to use one of the Totem addons, even if only running 3 or 4 shamans. Just seems that (in combination with good macros) it would make things a bit easier.

I use TotemTimers ('http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/totemtimers.aspx') on all of my shamans, they automatically make a macro for you, and it changes when you change what totems you want to drop.
My ui looks like this with it:

Timer shows right below the totem(above the fire ele cd that You can see in ss), its nice, also shows when totems like disease/tremor tick
