View Full Version : Druid + DK. Who should do what?

I've had a look through this whole section and didn't see anything directly addressing my issue, so I'm posting this in the hope of finding some good advice.

I've been dual-boxing for about a month and have really enjoyed running 2x the same class (hunters, mages, shammies), but am wondering if I can do this with a couple of my older toons. I want to move my druid (lvl 70, feral spec) to my second account so I can pair him with my DK (lvl 73, unholy spec) and run them as a pair in Northrend. I'm unsure which of them should fill what role, though.

I'm used to playing them solo and they're both very effective on their own. They're decently geared and specced for what they do, but I can't see how the run them together the way they are. I'd thought of using the DK as the master and dual-speccing the druid into balance for a healing slave who can still throw in spell damage when needed.

Does that sound like a viable plan, or is there a more effective way to use these two together? Any advice (even including macros, spell rotations - as I've really only done feral with the druid) would be most welcome.

Thanks in advance for any help you guys can offer.

that sounds like a good plan to me. Ive dual boxed melee before, and you get used to it. Now with interact with target its even easier. And dual spec to a caster sounds good. I think going deep resto for the off spec would suit you better. That way if you need to run an instance quest, you can just pug 3 of anything, since you have tank/healer/dps taken care of.

I would do DK+Feral with the druid having a resto secondary spec.

With a DK+resto druid you can kill about every elite in northern end, the ring of blood quests might get harder but its pretty easy to find dps for them and they dont require much movment.

Thanks for the quick replies!

I'll be dual-speccing feral/resto for the druid, and I've already started making him some Iceborne gear for an alternate armor set. (Good timing on Equipment Manager coming live!)

Now I just have to wait for his transfer to go through.

Thanks again! :)

The initial quest gear in Northrend is better then Tier 4.
You'll be replacing Tier 5 by the second zone.
Depends how well geared your Druid is as Feral I suppose.
With WotLK, Feral tanks no longer stack defense, being Crit immune from talents alone.

I'd strongly consider having the Druid as Balance/Resto for leveling.
Balance does not care if follow breaks when melee starts, they can DPS from range.
Balance can DPS as well as Feral, and is a lot easier to multibox a ranged DPS then a melee DPS slave.
Most of the gear is caster gear which is useful to both specs.
With Feral and Resto, you will sometimes take an item great for one and useless for the other.
