Hey everyone,

I am a newcomer to this community, and I'm just saying hello.
Im new to dual-boxing and willing to learn everything. Ive been researching about DB on this froum for some hours now, and almost decided what program I shall use/buy.
(I think it's gonna be Keyclone)
So you guys might get some questions from me soon (after Ive read almost every inch on this forum) when I'm trying to set up my DB'ing.

I just have one question I would like to have andswered before I go into this too deeply:
I'm wondering if my computer can handle DB'ing with 2 characters? (yes, I've read about all computers acting different, but still)

This means I will have one main window, and one smaller window. I dont care how slow the fps/resolution/measurements at the 2nd window need to be, as long as I can control the dual-boxing on the main window.
Setup:

-Pentium(4) 3.40 GHz
-1.50 GB (ram)
-Geforce 7900 GS, 256 MB

Feel free to ask me anything, share some tips/tricks or even criticise!

Thanks in advance!

Hi! Your computer should be able to dual-box just fine.

for an added bonus... check your video card, i believe it has 2 dvi outputs.

find a second monitor and hook it up. you can either run both wows windowed (but looks fullscreen) or use the 2nd monitor for a smaller wow window with room left over for your favorite quest guide webpage / vent / IM client

have fun and welcome to the addiction!

Thanks for the quick, helpfull and kind replies guys.
It's good to hear that my pc should be able to DB.
My video card indeed has a 2nd slot for another monitor.
Hopefully, I can find a 2nd monitor somewhere in my house, so I can try your idea. (I have windows XP so it might be bad quality, but hey I can always try)

Do you maybe know if that 2nd monitor can just be hooked up and the rest auto adjusts itself (plug and play), or do I need to configure all sort of complicated settings?

Not to complicated just right click on your desktop and go to Properties. Then click the Settings tab and enable your second monitor. On xp should be called Extend windows to this monitor blah blah

Your video card will handle it just fine with XP
That is the same card I used for over 2 years or so to db with.
I used 2 monitors as well without an issue.

The best way to verify that you can handle it. Send yourself some trial account offers. Load them up one at a time. And play. When it seems to bad you know your computers limits.

imho, be prepared to /wrists when you enter Northrend. Hopefully you have some time between now and then to save for an upgrade or two.

As usual, RAM would probably be your cheapest and most significant upgrade to your existing box. 4gb can be found in the $40 range. Beyond that, the sky (and your budget) are the limits.

"Oh, shut up, will ya?"
"Oooh ... But I was just getting to the best part!"
"All right. But don't expect us to pay any attention."
"You're going to love this ... Abandon all hope ye who enter here, for this is the road to destruction!!!"
"Very nice ..."
"Come back any time ... I mean, you're doomed, DOOMED!"
