I never noticed this spell before... and I find everything I read about it to be confusing.
I think it means I can cast BoL on target A , heal Target B and heal both B and thur BoL target A.
I think BoL only works on direct heal cast ( divine storm heals but it's not a direct cast heal )

I have 5x pallys so I was wondering if I couldn't just cast BoL on my neighboring pally ( one big circle **** ) and would it refelect around if I have 5 beacons ?

Beacon of Light is the Holy Paladin's cure for lacking AOE healing abilities. It's great in heroics and raids. There are two main methods of use:

When you're tank healing:
Put Beacon on the Tank. When AOE splash damage happens and you are healing the rest of the party/raid, your tank gets heals still.

If for some reason you're raid healing and not assigned to a tank:
Put Beacon on yourself. You will stay up and healed while you're taking care of the other healers and the dps.

How it works - You toss beacon on your UberTank. When you heal MageBoy (who is down by 3000 health) with a spell that heals for 5000 health, the EFFECTIVE heal is duplicated onto UberTank. UberTank gets a free 3000k health increase.

When I get home from work, I'll post my macro for dual-boxing with a Holy Pally and using Beacon. It casts the beacon only every 60 seconds, no matter how often you push it. So I put that macro on 3 buttons I use commonly as I tank with my Prot Pally. This way beacon is ALWAYS up.

My main for a while was my holy pally. You put beacon on your tanker, than anytime you heal someone in range of the tanker the tanker gets healed by it also. Or if you put beacon on A and heal B, as long as B is in range of A, A gets healed also.

Turns out I had already posted it here: Block a macro for a set period? ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=188317&post188317')

#showtooltip Beacon of Light
/castsequence [target=focus] reset=60 Beacon of Light, ,

I would think this would cast Beacon every 3rd press....

Are you actually using something like:

#showtooltip Beacon of Light
/castsequence [target=focus] reset=60 Beacon of Light, null

or

#showtooltip Beacon of Light
/castsequence [target=focus] reset=60 Beacon of Light ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,, ,,,,,

thanks for the info... the website I first saw this on had it as a level 1 spell and not the top of the talent tree.
I've been thinking of converting one of my pally to holy and if I do I'm sure this will be a great help.

so far I've been able to passively heal my way though dungeons with just divine storm on 4 ret pallys... maybe I'll dual spect the 4th and give it a try.

Beacon still makes me feel "meh". It was ok, but I never felt it was worth the extra points I had to put into holy to get it. It felt clumsy and because holydins are crit wh**es, it was almost always a lot of mana to spend for a ton of over heal.

I almost always used it on myself, since no single person in my group ever needed enough healing to make it worthwhile on my tank {5mans}. In raiding {pre-wrath} there was always another healer there jumping the gun on heals, making my paladin underworked in general and beacon near useless. Putting it on myself meant never worrying about my own health so I could just work on everyone else.

Beacon (or "Bacon" as we call it) is and will never be a useless talent by any stretch of the imagination. It's better for some fights than others. Obviously fights like Patchwerk and even phase 3 KT come to mind as huge multi-tank fights. You get some rediculous healing out of it. This ability becomes more useful (and necessary) the higher you go, especially in 10 mans.

I very rarely put bacon on myself. Before the patch, I didn't want to heal myself unless I had to because if another healer healed me, I'd get mana back. Now, it's not as much of an issue.

As far as boxing goes? Make the pally the tank and get a priest. =)

I was just joking around, heh. I raid with my holy pally. The priests and I are usually fighting each other for making people not dead the most. OMG! That bunny rabbit just hit the MT for 1 damage! Holy Light heals the MT for 1 health. (18,374 Overhealed).

Overhealing % does not compute in our brains. =)

Pallies are overheal machines. I've raided with more overall overhealing than effective healing, plenty of times. It's all them druids and their damn HoTs. I don't use it much anymore, but gearing up it was a lifesaver. It's a lot of mana, but in a 5 man, just keep it on the tank and FOL everyone else = tank lives too. I've even regeared to be a haste healer for ulda, 500+ haste and tons of int and just spam HL. Throw up a bacon on an offtank and you can almost tank heal a 25 man by yourself - till the tank eats 2 20k hits in a row...

I would think this would cast Beacon every 3rd press....That's exactly what it does, so that macro is wrong. I also wouldn't recommend placing the beacon in a cast sequence, because it then has a tendency to cast when you don't want it (usually making you miss that one critical heal that could have saved your tank). Your best bet is to use an add-on that informs you when it's about to expire and recast it manually.
