I am about to endevour in to 5 boxin and am realizing the cost. This troubles me but I really want to dive in but being a high school student its quite expensive. Anyone else in my situation that have found ways around it.

If you want to 5 box you're going to have to hustle. $75 a month isn't too tough to manage when you're still in school. Just find a job. Any job. Even if you don't like it.

Not sure why this question is asked so much. It's not expensive to 5 box. I worked at McDonald's when I was 15 and made $720 a month, more than covers the monthly fee for 5 subs.

Just do what I did, I cant afford all the accounts at once, But sell your xbox on creigslist or something. Use battle chests, their cheeper, and RAF every account, you will need it. Use granded levels to get 3 accounts to 4 with an xfer. or 4 to 5, all with 60's. Yes, one will be undergeared, but by 65 you will be good to go. Also it comes with a free month, which means you have time to get the moeny for paying for them. Dont worry about wrath till you get near 70, which trust me, if your not useing RAF, you have a very long time.

As Fur stated, you'll end up losing both accounts if they don't both belong to you.

I think it's great you are interested in multi-boxing, and also interested in taking the responsibility to pay for it yourself.
But, the monthly fee won't be too bad for you to handle and even have quite a bit to spare for other things with a part-time job with very few hours.

The hard part will be if you don't have the hardware. You might want to give us an idea of what you are using now, and maybe we can point you to some easy/cheap solutions.

Also, while you may ultimately want to run a full group, it never hurts to start out small and grow as you can.

My main account that ive had since day one is on a 6month plan. The rest are just monthly. I have canceled the slave accounts about twice now. If you don't have a job, there are very few other ways to get it. Basically selling stuff. I have heard of people selling plasma. But really, go mow a few lawns. 5x wow accounts are cheaper than my iPhone bill.

Well I was hoping fora solution like fill outthese online surveys and make a few bucks here and their but I decided to apply for a job at gamestop to pay for it. Its just that a job cuts in to wow time so I was lookin or alternatives but heck gamestop shouldn't be bad if I get the job! Also as far as paying for it I've done all the math and dropped the idea of borrowing my bros and I have enough for the investment and should be able to pay the monthly fees just the first monthly fee scares me so what I decided is 2 boxing for now and adding a 3rd fourth and fifth depending on job status, cash flow with that part time job, and sheer enjoyment that I get from multiboxing. Already got 2 60's 1 30 and the 30 is on the account that recruited my 2nd current account so that will give me 5 toons just gotta get shit together. Follow my blog (see sig) and listen to how this teenager turns in to your next its over 9000 multiboxer

a job cuts in to wow time This scares me, as all I did in school was go to it and play wow. Now I don't have very many friends in my area to hang out with, and my life can be rather...empty.

Now I have a job and all the time in the world for wow, yet I don't want to, nor do I know many people around me to hang out with.

And yes, I do sell my plasma for money. And I'm not the biggest fan of needles either, but as long as I look away while the poke me, it's not so bad. It may sting a little bit, but it can be a good 60 dollars a week.

I remember when I was still in school.... A long time ago now. I worked washing dishes 20 hours a week for $3.35/hr. Doing the math, that's roughly 230 dollars a month after taxes. That was in 1988. I don't really know what the minimum wage is now, but I do know that it is more than $3.35/hr. I'm so busy with work and the family, I'd pay more than $75/month for someone to mow my yard. I'm sure that I'm not the only person out there that feels the same. Go to any middle class neighborhood and go door to door. Hell, I'd pay that much AND let you use my gas and mower.

Good luck getting into Gamestop. I must have applied at 5 different ones when I was younger. The only way to get in is if you know someone that knows someone that works there and they put in a recommendation.

Another thing I hate about places like that is they constantly harrass you to sell the gamestop subscriptions to every customer:

You: "That'll be $42.87, would you like to sign up for our membership and save 5% today?"
Customer: "No, thanks."
You: "Are you sure? It's a one time fee of $15 and you save 5% today!"
Customer: "NO"
You: "You're missing out on some serious savings, not to mention free coupons will be sent in the mail"
Customer: "For the love of God NO!!!!!"
Your Manager: "Hey Billy, you really need to step up on those gamestop subscription sales, you're falling behind! MMkay? I'm gonna need you to come in for 8 hours on Saturday...."
Your Assistant Manager: "Hey Billy heard you're slacking on the gamestop subs, pick up the pace buddy, can you cover my shift tomorrow? Thanks man"

Starbuck_Jones
05-19-2009, 12:19 AM
Some scruffy guy mows my lawn, I think he gets $10 for it, he doesn't do a very good job, but its more than I would do as I wouldn't do it at all. Its part of a package deal with my neighbor. I also don't clean my house anymore. I pay a housekeeper $25 a week to come in and clean it once a week.

It all comes down to time = money I put in about 50 hours a week at work and for the last 2 years I was going to night/day/summer school getting a second degree because I felt like it. House cleaning and yard work simply were not getting done. I make ok money so $100 a month for a clean house and maybe $30 more for a mowed lawn costs me about half a days pay a month and I don't have to do it and it gives me that time back for myself (It would take me longer than 4-5 hours to do all that in a month). Now that school is done, I could mow my own lawn and clean my own house, but ill still pay someone else to do it as my free time is more valuable to me for other things.

So if you want money there are only a few ways to get it. Win it, Steal it, Inherit it, or earn it.

I completely agree. A clean house is definitely worth some money if you have enough to spend and don't like to clean.

I used to have to donate plasma to feed my family. Ahh life in the military was grand.

I pay someone to mow the lawn, it costs more then WoW.

I had children to clean the house. A house keeper is cheaper and doesn't talk back.

In high school the best job you can get is anyone where you get tips. I waited tables at a Golden Corral for a while. I made half of minimum wage + tips. I made around $1 a person and would push around 30-40 people through in a four hour shift. Sunday after churches got out rocked - was like $70 easy. Plus if you are smart you are not taxed on all of that - just calculate what half of minimum wage is * hours worked and put that on your time sheet, the rest is gravy. If grocery sackers are tipped where you live that is good coin too. Tipping those guys is a regional thing though some places do it some don't. Retail, anything retail games, cloths, toys, usually sucks. Fast food blows too. Sales stuff can be good to, where you would get a commission. #1 rule in business, the closer you are to the source of the money the more of it you get to keep. Sales guys are usually the closest and make obscene amount of money if they are good at. Much more then engineers or marketing types even if they are equally talented. Being forced to talk to people to make money is also good if that is something you have a hard time with. Also, sometimes, in sales jobs you can set your own hours - even ones you can get in high school. So if you are worried that work time will cut into wow time it can be a great motivator to sell more, faster. Just make to shower really well afterwards because you will feel dirty.

All that being said CNN did have this article earlier in the week. It includeds something about filling out online surveys - though with a lot of those being a minor may be an issue, not sure though.

I sell my body to pay for my WoW addiction. What can I say I make just enough to pay for WoW. All my accounts are on a 6 month, not really that big of a deal I just sacrifice other things to do it. I don't drink since I pay for all my WoW accounts and well I don't have a personal life, I live in my moms basement and see the light of day maybe once a month! Live off your parents its great until they kick you out.

Ok most of that is a joke, I have been out of my moms basement for 13 years almost, :) I just throw the accounts on my credit card, I have a good job so I dont worry about it much. Now if you are just starting the initial cost might be a bit since you have to invest on the hardware and software depending on how you are going to do it, I am cheap so I use Octopus to play and I had 2 accounts for a long time and upgraded first to 4 then I got a fifth one, now I 5 box. If you live with mom and pop just do some extra chores and earn it! Don't be lazy.

re: plasma dontation

When I was in college there were several options for plasma donation in seattle, they all paid approximately $25-40 a week, but prices may have changed since then - the process involves drawing approximately 1 pint of blood and putting it through a machine that separates out the clear fluid from red blood cells. That fluid is the plasma which your body regenerates much faster then red blood cells. After its separated from the blood they drew they pump your red blood cells back again and repeat the process.

That is actually kind of funny that you bring up Plasma selling, I knew a guy that did this to supplement his income. He would come in the next morning all tired and you knew he had sold plasma the previous day. The guy was about 120 wet with a pea coat on so its kind of funny that he did that, but what do I know a bigger guy might look the same after doing the plasma sale haha.

There might have been other factors. For one, I'm not 120 (weighing in avg 230).

I don't think your blood type would really impact your ability to donate. You take a physical/get processed the first time you donate.

The finger poking and initial needle insertion sting a little. After about an hour of laying with a needle in your arm it starts getting uncomfortable. Read: "Get this darn needle outta me!"

As for the process, I'm not sure how much blood they draw per ''cycle" (It's an automated process, a machine draws a certain amount of blood, takes the plasma out, returns the blood cells, rinse/repeat a couple times), but the cycles average about 15 minutes per, with the average number of cycles being 4. Number of cycles depends on how hydrated you are.

Payment wise I'm not too sure about. I'm in the highest weight range and I take home about 60 dollars a week. (25 first visit, 15 second) Each visit takes on average 2 hours.

My favorite answer for when people ask me about it in game:
"I don't smoke and I don't drink, that about covers it."

Where the money comes from in the first place, is my student loans as I'm going through college without a job (read: not allowed to work in this country according to my student Visa.)
And I already had the computer for it anyway.

i use the free check from the navy to pay for my 10x toons. Im an "IT" in the military so i make a decent amount.

However i have a setup with my "wow addict" of a Coworker/guild leader, in which i fund the guild with 10% of my profit that i earn every day and in return he gets 10x 60 day wow cards at the 1st of the new month. So yea it all works out in the end, but if he ever wanted to stop, i would probable cancel 5 of my accounts asap :)

I guess that's sorta true. A couple of people working for a client of mine are jealous of my setup and accounts. They frequently have delusions of grandeur when it comes to technology, so I think they are both scheming on ways to at least do the same thing, if not try to one-up me. I hear one of them has a bunch of 80s now, but doesn't hardware/software multibox as we think of it.

Other than that, everyone else seems to like me for the free rides through heroics when they need them.

On topic: I pay for my accounts by working and making more than I minimally need to pay the bills each month. Nothing special.

I don't have to pay for housing and a meal plan.I also get a stipend each semester so I have more than enough for my four accounts. Also get to spend almost every night of the week in my dorm on call so more play time ^.^
