Looking for help leveling up priest

hello, i just started playing an alliance priest in fire tree a few days ago and after trying over n over to lvl on my own my efforts have yeilded me with the stunning lvl of lvl 9, i truely need help lvling as far as you can help me please, i plan tp specialise in shadow, and also in return for if you helped me i will do anything you need (ex:help lvl any alt of yours, help with any raid/instance or quest i can ect.) the whole thing is just do quests. youll be level 10 before you know it. only way i could see having so much trouble is if you were trying to be a pacifist or something. i mean you have 71 more levels to go. but anyways have a look at this site maws guide 1-12 ('http://www.wow-pro.com/human_leveling_guide_1-12') once you get to the bottom it links to the next one for 12-20 and so forth.

i didnt find the priest very hard at all. just throw up shield hit em with a shadow word: pain a smite or 2 and then wand till dead renewing shield when you can. it seemed i was pretty hard to kill once i got the shield. hardly ever have to heal myself in combat. you have been training skills every 2 levels right?

no i havent played a priest ever, but i do know that in shadow you get very good DPS, and i have been good at fully DPS with warlocks, and rogues, i havent played a feral cat form druid yet, but i truely want to lvl up and play a shadow priest

well all i can say is try and pull mobs one at a time then. you really shouldnt be dying all the time though maybe you need to really examine what youre doing and follow that cast sequence i gave you. i was able to take on 1-2 mobs at the same time with that no worries. but maybe youre looking for someone to level with so you can just sit back and cast and if thats the case then i cant help you, but if you really wanna be good at your character then you need to figure it out. all classes can be leveled solo fairly easily. in fact i remember feeling a little op with the priest at the lvl 8-12 range i think i even said it in guild chat

Shadow form only increases your damage by 15%, it's not that big of a deal. It sounds like you need to work on your general strategy.

You should be casting Power Word: Shield before you even start a fight. Give it a few seconds so when it gets used up you will be able to recast it right away. If you use it as soon as you start getting hit, it will run out and you will still be waiting the 15 seconds to reapply it. Smart use of your shield will keep you from taking any damage at all when fighting 1 mob of equal level at a time.

fire wand and shadow wand are also options but i generally see them for more usually about 50s or so but they do less dps anyways.

hey, once again i wanted to thank you all, i did edit the casting sequance a bit, instead of smite once or twice i use mind blast, it does more damage, but has a longer cool down, other than that i still get a very good use out of the sequance, i can now pull about 3 NPCs my lvl and kill them all while only loosing a quarter to half my health.
