View Full Version : What To Do?!

So I recently transferred my main [and all my money] from a very lame and low pop PvE realm to a PvP realm which was one of the original 13. I figured I had a month left on my 5 box RAF and it would be easy to just get my groups back up to 60. But then I started thinking about it...up to 60 will be quick and easy....but what about to 70? to 80? On a high population PvP realm this is going to be a nightmare!

So my dilemma is:

Should I go back to that PvE realm where my original RAF characters are and ask an old friend for a loan to help re-gear my naked characters and fund my new up-and-coming characters?

or...

Should I suck it up on my new PvP realm and have it take 2, 3, possibly 20 times as long to go from 60-80?

Before helping me decide please take into consideration that I understand the cost of transferring and am willing to incur such an amount :)

Thanks Guys [and Girls]!

If you transfered already you get a month cooldown before you can transfer again.

I live on one of the most populated servers in the EU and while leveling i was ganked 9/10 times when spotted by allies who were higher levels. When you get to 70 your not a free kill anymore, atleast not to certain classes.

When i leveled my first team i managed to do it with barley getting killed, however people werent running around with full Deadly gear then. When i leveled my second team all the quest zones were pretty much empty and most didnt even notice that i multiboxed since i ran 5 different classes. Half of the time i won because they assumed that i was only 2 chars i guess.

Use common sence and you can avoid 90% of the ganking.. If you travel to Stranglethorn sunday 15:00 and expect not to be ganked you will be terrible disapointed.

Your on a pvp server and you have to expect to be killed and dont expect it to be a fair fight since few opens a fight they expect to lose.

I ususaly never ganked before but seeing how people ganked me without remorse when i leveled my boxing team changed all that, now i kill everything in the open world and i havent died outdoors in 3-4 months. 4 chars vs one certainly aint fair but i dont realy care since it never was fair when i ran around with 4 lvl 29's.

Ive never been on any server other than pvp servers and I really think you are worrying too much. Ive been held up maybe 2-3 times by gankers from 1-80. On those times it was good for me anyway because it gave me 5-10 mins to make a drink and research quests I should be doing. You wont have any problem with same level players but I would suggest being a carebear and not ganking people because chances are they will go get their mains and cause u problems. Once you get to about 75 you should be able to kill most level 80 players if they try to gank you. Id suggest just getting on with your leveling then if you find yourself having a problem with gankers at a later level then consider transfering then :)

Gonna add that:

1-60 is done in a day played if you focus only on kill quests and is somehow known.
60-70 is piss easy as there are nearly 0 lvl 80's in outlands.
70-80 is overrated since most low level zones that doesnt contain dailies is empty apart from random miners and herbers.

I was ganked less than half a dozen times on the whole path from 1 to 80. I think I was ganked about 3 times, including:
- 1 person that wanted revenge because he was killed before by a previous level 80 multibox group of mine.
- 2 or 3 times in Stranglethorn Vale (that's gank area anyway, so totally expectable)

When i leveled my lock to 80 I was ganked maybe twice, i think in feralas by a group of pallys and in hellfire by one of the 10 million dk's running around. Some pathetic hunter tried to gank me about 4 times in a row in borean tundra but he wasn't specced BM so I feared, nuked and /LOLD him everytime, but he kept coming back for more.. thanks for the free hk's! Well this is good news. Sounds like I'll be sticking to that PvP server to box my groups up. :)
And to clarify my first post, I wouldn't be moving my main character back to that PvE realm ever. The transfer charges I was speaking of were going to be from the old PvE realm to the new PvP realm once they were leveled up to 80 and possibly a little arena geared. Seeing as my old realm is in the Emberstorm battlegroup and my new realm is in the Bloodlust battlegroup....not sure I'll be doing any arenas successfully for quite a bit.

I got burned out on my Outlands team, and started finally leveling my rogue in Northrend - Borean and Howling are *deserted*. I have not run into any other players, and I'm on an original server. Not even any DKs! I did the entire airstrip/DEHTA quest hubs last night, and never saw another player! (LOVE getting all the cobalt for myself)

I wouldn't worry too much. Most of the really high end pvp players moved off Tich and arent in that battlegroup anymore.

Keep in mind transfering toons might break the raf link, tho I'm not sure its something you should research on the wow site.

I don't care, but it is a little like the beginning of 28 Days Later, y'know? Maybe everyone's in Ulduar.

I would suck it up. Your going to have ganking no matter what level. I had around 60 deaths on each of my toons from being ganked by the time I reached level 80 on a PvP server. I would estimate that I got corpse camped maybe a half doezen of thoes times; once in vanilla wow and the rest in outlands. A good 2/3 of all my getting killed was in Outlands. Level 80's can just walk into your stronghold areas and not get attacked by NPC's and totaly destroy you with flying mount supprise attacks.

Yeah I'm going to suck it up. Saves me $125 per team in transfer fees...which in the long run...is a lot of money if you think about it :)

I got one level 80 attempting to camp me and another 18 who flew in to hellfire specifically to try gank me last night after people found out where I was leveling :D.

Killed the lock that was trying to camp me and chased him to blades edge then zangarmarsh then shattrath before he logged for the night. As for the other 18, I love pvp :D

edit: I'm sure you'll be fine on your server :)
