View Full Version : My first boxing mistake! (about time lol)

So I'm two-boxing, and following Jame's Guide via the tourguide addon. I just get to the part where I have to do a catch-up quest because I started in Ghostlands instead of Barrens, which means doing a L20 quest @L25, where many of the mobs are gray to me (L16-19's are gray).
I pickup the kill quest, go out and whilst competing with a ?? NE boomkin who god knows why was obliterating all the same mobs, finally get my kills in after about 25 mins. Go to turn in, pick up the next quest, notice the slave didn't accept it. I'm like, "WTF?"
Then I notice that the slave hasn't accepted the FIRST quest yet...GRRR! She was out of range of the questgiver so my interact-with-unit hotkey didn't cause her to popup the dialog.
Now I have to go out and kill 30 mobs all over again, most of them gray to me so not even worth xp, as I need her to have that quest done so she can continue the chain with me. NE boomkin is still out there blowing up mobs with moonfire spam for god knows what reason a L80 alliance boomkin would be farming the L16-20 quillboars in southern barrens.
Side note: Is there a way to have Jamba alert me (in raid warning or such) when I accept a quest and the slave doesn't ALSO accept it, so I'll notice right away that something went wrong on the slave? Otherwise I have to watch my chat box to see if the text "background accepted X" appears...and I get lazy sometimes and don't look for that.

While this could get annoying, isn't there a setting to send to party chat each update not just the final quest complete update?

I can't tell you how many times I've done a quest and 4 of my toons will have a "?" on their screen, and the fifth will have a "!" because she didn't pick up the quest. That is the pure definition of irritating.
On the notification part, I don't think you can have Jamba notify you when one doesn't have a quest, but what I do is this. You can have Jamba send messages to any chat channel you specify, so I made my own channel called ClotteBox (Clotte is my "main", on the main screen). Password the channel, and make a seperate area for it (for me it's top left). Any thing the toons accomplish, pick up, or otherwise want to say appears there. So, if I notice a toon isn't casting, or anything like that, I can glance at "ClotteBox" and see something like "Siaea: Out of range". Also, I can see quest objectives such as "Siaea: Mob X killed: 1/10". Very handy.

Mine already does that...not in party chat but as a white message in the default chatbox. I just don't pay attention to it all the time as yes, it gets annoying and I've been ignoring it (but not wanting to turn it off for specifically this reason).
It was just bad luck that I didn't notice at all throughout the 30 kills that only one toon was reporting progress there. Now I know to watch for BOTH toons reporting their progress one mob/item at a time...

By the way, the boomkin was probably there to get the Savory Deviate Delight recipe. They can go for several hundred gold on the AH but don't seem worth it imo. I must have killed over a thousand of those things and never got it to drop

Also possible they wanted the 160 recipe achievement. This recipe is virtually required to get that. On my server it sell for much more alliance side then it does horde side - because alliance have so few quests in the barrens I suppose. So going around farming it might make sense if you want the achievement.

It is really old, but I love it. BackSeatQuester. I got it from WoWInterface. It shows each char and how much they are done on their quests. You would notice that someone doesn't have the quest. Also, I don't run into very many quests that you can't share, I very rarely get quests on my alts through NPCs. Not that I notice anyway. Good luck.

I think QuestHelper will show you everyone's progress when you hover on a quest mob or corpse. This is fine for killing quests. In Howling Fjord there is a quest to free people from spider cocoons. In cases like that it doesn't show progress and yes, I ended up with 2 characters not having the quest and I only noticed after I turned in and wanted to equip the quest reward on all characters.
Thankyouverymuchquestmobonaplatformwithalittlenarr owramptogetupthereandnumerousthinpoleseverywhere. Quest designer was *NOT* a multi boxer.

I am NOT kidding you.
I havent seen one for under 1k in a long time. Players are too lazy to go farm it, and have too much gold. I have a mental note, that if I do see one for less than 1k, to grab it and relist it.
Problem is, I havent been able to get another. Grrrrr.

I have missed turning in a quest because my inventory was full on a slave. When you pick a reward and click complete quest it looks like it completed it. The little red error saying inventory is full is sometimes hard to see. Then when I pick up a follow up one wont get it and I never realize until after I finish it. When I do realize it, all the four letter words you can think of get screamed.

I gotta watch for that, since my slave still has two 4-slot, a 6-slot, and an 8-slot bag and that's it at L25. She only loots though when you need to loot quest items from mobs, and every time I visit a vendor I go through her inventory to manually sell all the stuff jamba doesn't auto-sell (white items, soulbound greens from quests, etc).
At least the main char, my paladin, is running two 18's and two 16's so has tons of bag space for being the one that does most of the looting...
