View Full Version : Keyclone occasionally changing some key behaviour completely

I am using 1.9 on XP pro. Sometimes 2 box, sometimes 5 boxing.

From time to time Keyclone will change the behaviour of some keys. This usually happens after a short break while playing with everything loaded but not being used for a short while. It does not happen every time.

What does happen is that the meaning of some keys changes completely. For example "m" will now toggle music (bringing up a message on screen that music is now en/disabled) instead of bringing up the map. Another example is that "a" will now delete all previous text typed in the chat box.

I usually clear this by exiting completely out of both WoW and Keyclone, although I did once clear it by going into Keyclone setup, not changing anything and then exiting setup. If I can find a more consistent way to either reproduce the bug or clear it I will add it here.

That sounds like a sticky "ctrl" key and happens to me a fair amount, especially since I use an extended key sequence to PiP windows.

For me, bouncing randomly on all of the extender keys (shirt, ctrl, alt) a few times clears it.

There's an old discussion around here somewhere that explains the technical reasons for it happening (missing keyup events on a window that's losing focus, etc) but the above work-around soon becomes second-nature.

That sounds like a good idea - I will try it.

Thanks

You're doing this on 1 box, or multiple?

I have issues when I'm holding down alt / control and mousing over to another box (via Synergy / InputDirector) they key will usually stick. Just have to teach yourself to not hold down modifiers while swapping over.

I am doing this on 1 box, BUT I do have another computer and synergy that I use to browse web etc while multi boxing. That must be it.

I get the same effect on a single box too.

If I use a CTRL+SHIFT+F1-F5 hotkey to PiP a window across, or if I happen to be holding down ctrl, alt or shift as I mouse-over to another window (I have focus-follows-mouse enabled in Windows) then that key becomes "stuck" until I bounce on it again.
