I'm sure someone has posted on this before, but search isn't helping me out at all here .. My Pally just dinged 75, and my priest / 3xmage are 50% through lvl 74. I get almost 21,000xp per quest turn in, but am getting 550-620xp per mob kill. My team is a master at AOE mob grinding as my pally can round up seemingly unlimited mobs, and a hotkeynet mouse brodcast to my mages for 3x blizzard finishes the job fast.

Every group of 4-6 mobs will net me around 2400+ xp in less than a minute at lvl 75. The problem is that I can never find enough of them grouped together and have to usually take 1 or 2 at a time. Is there anywhere I can grind large groups and burn through some of this rested xp? The time to do collection quests is making the 20k turn in xp inefficient.

Anyone know of some good AOE grind spots?

Icecrown - West Field. If you do the pulls right you can get 2-3 packs. Each pack has quite a number of mobs... Although I think the mobs are 79-80 range.

The only really good spot I found was doing rhinos out by warsong hold. The spawn rate is crazy fast and if you loot then the whole field seems to re spawn before you're done. They are only lvl 72 ish tho, so after a while not good XP. But make lots of money while grinding

Do the Frenzyheart/Oracle hordes in Scholozar give standard XP per kill? I didn't get to Scholazar 'til 80 so I dunno. They're available in vast numbers in the areas targeted by daily quests.

When you can fly to Icecrown there are packs of Converted Heroes that travel in packs of 7. http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=32255
I kill these for my 15 scourge Tournament daily. My Pally can easily aggro two groups and kill them at once solo. With any AoE it is stupid fast. I would guess there are 10-15 or so packs of these that roam the area. I plan on bringing my group through here as soon as they I can easily get them there.

Before that, I think it is just faster to try and do kills as you quest. There are so many quests you can do in 1-2 pulls all over the place. There are a couple of pockets, like the alliance troops on the east side of Dragonblight, that are ok. But nothing as nice at 14-20 mobs at once, at least that I have found.

There is a mini event going on in Shol Basin that I farm cloth at that can get so hectic that I don't have time to loot till there are 12-15 corpses on the ground and often just loot while im getting pounded by 1-3 guys at a time.

I remember grinding on some elite worms in dragon blight when I was boosting up my druid. but he was a solo druid tagging targets and letting my level 80s kill them.
I guess it depends on how fast you can kill these elite worms.
there is an area of level 72's under or not far from Naxx that were good for 70-74 or so, there I could have my druid pull a large group and my shaman would finish them off.

I thought tag-killing was a punishable offense? Or is that just in instances? I know that the guy who got the world first 80 did it by tagging mobs in instances and having the rest of his group drop group and kill them for him. He was punished by being reduced back to L70 and a 3-day suspension.

Intentionally circumventing the party restriction in instances by constantly dropping group and re-joining before being auto-hearthed was deemed to be against the "spirit of the game."

Athene had a bunch of screenshots of GM conversations of them saying that tag-killing is fine. He used that to start all the drama of "Bliz said it's ok but they banned me for it," yet failed to mention to the original GM that it would be done in instances.

Its called Tag Boosting, I do it every day:

Tag Boosting ('http://www.dual-boxing.com/forums/index.php?page=Thread&postID=186384&highlight=%22tag+boosting%22#post186384')

The dude you are talking about was going in and out of his group so he got all the exp in an instance (goes out of group to tag the mobs that the group killz then goes back in teh group so the instance dosn't close). He was exploiting game mechnics becasue when he left the group the instance should have closed at least for him.
