I've been browsing the forums for a while accountless, and finally decided to come out and say hi. First of all, I'd like to thank Ellay for converting me to a multiboxing enthusiast. I saw your 4 shaman in AV owning it up and thought it was awesome. Someone linked this site and I ended up on the forums. From there I read up on all the beginner topics I could find, and I must say, this place is great.
I can't really claim to multibox. I do all my stuff from a single pc.. er laptop to be exact. I started out by getting a copy of keyclone. I have to admit, I wasn't really planning on it all working out so well. Thanks Keyclone, your software is amazingly useful and very worth the money. I started out with alt+tab and 2 accounts. I eventually got a hold of maximizer, and a new account to go along with the other 2. I was really surprised that my laptop could run 3 instances of WoW with little to no framerate issues. I can run 4, but that's when things start getting a little choppy.
I've been playing WoW since the first day it came out, and I don't recall a single time that I had comparable fun to the moment I started up my first trio. I'm not really a huge fan of all the attention I get, but if you're into that stuff then multiboxing is your best bet.
I leveled my first set of 3 shaman up to 24, and decided I enjoyed it so much that I should turn it up a notch. Currently waiting for newegg to ship my new desktop pc setup. Complete with enough power to run 5 instances of WoW and possibly make me breakfast.. Even got dual monitors. :D
I plan on buying 2 more accounts the day my setup is complete and rocking out 5 chars at once. Should be a blast. Just need to decide which classes to make.
Well, that's how I got started. I'll keep posting updates to my progress for anyone who might be interested. I plan on playing something non-traditional amongst the multiboxing community, and I think I have a good setup in mind, but I have so many questions before I get started. We'll see how it goes. :)
