No, I'm not talking about the instance in Caverns of Time. I'm talking about the subzone in Hillsbrad Foothills.

I dual-box a holy priest and a prot pally (main toon) and was doing my quests there yesterday. I don't know how any solo player is expected to do that place. The mobs are so tightly packed, have large "social aggro" ranges, run, and seem to respawn about 15 seconds after being killed.

To make matters worse, twice I fought Jailor Eston (at both his spawn points), along with 3-4 other mobs. Normally I can handle packs as my pally AE tanks with righteous fury + consecrate and the holy priest keeps me healed up. But Jailor Eston, when you're in a group, has mind control. He mind controlled my priest several times, now I lose my heals AND my priest is now healing him and the other mobs. GRRR!

Was lots of fun though, really tested the limits of what I can handle. At one point in another fight my priest was down to 2% (from casters that aggroed and were hard to group up and consecrate to get aggro on 'em), the pally was hurting and almost OOM from consecrating...but I pulled through. That was a 3-pull that cataclysmicly ended up being a 20-pull due to respawns, runners, and social aggro.

It's awfully rare that you run into an outdoor mob that has abilities like mindcontrol to mess up groups.

But your story adds some credence to the idea that they may have used the same dynamic respawn timers to even old world content, where spawns are increased due to how fast they are being killed. I don't recall them spawning quite that fast there. Maybe they saw you coming and called for reinforcements in advance. :)

Is ytour server pvp? It sounds like you got rickrolled by an enemy player using MC ;p did you look around for an enemy player hiding in the bushes or behind trees? lol

Yeah Jailor Eston is a pain with MC. He did that to me the other day.

I've gone solo through there on several toons. It's not as bad as you think. Eston can't MC since you don't have a group, but you're right the group aggro can be bad at times. The trick with it is to go slow, and go there a few levels above the mobs. Piece of cake.

Nope, PvE, and I know it was him because it said <Jailor Eston's Minion> under my priest's name. And an enemy player controlling my priest wouldn't have been able to heal an NPC hostile to both factions (she healed Eston and his buddies til OOM lol).

lol, ya its been probly over a year since I leveled any toons in that zone so I don't remember him doing any MC. But also If i'm right the last toon I quested there with was my rogue so I probly kicked him everytime he casted anything and raped his face lol

And that he doesn't MC if you are only one character.
