I've been saving up on badges/stonekeeper's shards to I can start a 5-man Mage team just to do what you did :)
glyph each shaman with the extra mirror image and go do 5v5 Arena and pop them all. Throw in 5 water elementals and focus fire!

Have you done 5v5 arena yet? how does that work for you?

Why not mixed up with a priest?

I got a 1 priest 4 mages team, at 58 atm. But im not sure if i should raf grand a new mage to level 60, and go with 5 mages.

I was thinking on: Mirror image x 4 + mage = 25 people, the trinket from Scholo, 5x3=15 is 40 people and 5 water elementals.

Now thats some awesomejuice right there.

You start with a POM Pyroblast -> Arcane Barrage -> Fire Blast or Frost nova -> Ice Lance

Plus, your mirror images will pwn aswell :)

BTW, how long did 60-80 took for you as 5 mages? Just aoe'd the shit out of all the mobs?

And your frostweave set did you made it yourself and farmed all the cloth yourself? I remember that the mail set for my shaman was expensive.

Few Things:

- I won't go pom pyro because pom arcane blast is more synergetic. It gives all of my mages +15% damage buff for next arcane barrage.
- Mirror images are fun in av, it's like 25 mages attacking 1 target
- Leveling 60-80 was alright, i just quested
- I bought all my frostweave sets cost me around 5k

Overall the setup is way more fun than my shammies, going to try some arenas tonight.

I actually have a 1 priest 4 mage team as well, but although the mirror images look nice, based on what i saw they only cast low dps versions of frostbolt and fire blast? I do like the relatively short cooldown though, and it looks intimidating to people not expecting it :)

That said, a 5 dk unholy team popping army of the dead, with 5 permanent ghoul pets up, and 5 gargoyles gave me about 50 combat minions minus any vanity pets or trinket summons. :D Only thing that sucks is the 10 minute (talented) cooldown on army of the dead.

question: does anyone know if either the mirror image clones or the army of the dead ghouls benefit from AE avoidance like what the treats got? I looked through the 3.1 patch notes but saw no mention of it, so kinda curious.

No dont think so. But i have read that the mirror images will not cast spells on CC'd targets. When you sheeped someone and got mirror images up and they were casting a spell on it they automaticly cancel it and either wait for the target to get out of sheep or choose an other target.

Also note that mirror images can cast sheep too.

i can confirm that the dk's pets get area avoidance too :) if you take the night of the dead skill (talented)

Back to playing my shammies now. My mages did not perform very well at 5's and I don't want to switch out one for a priest. So I am just going back to my shammies since they got buffed in the last patch.
